Sharapova get’s humiliated…
World no. 2 Maria Sharapova recieved a thrashing from the word go, torecord a 6-2 6-1 to Serbian golden girl, Ana Ivanovic. Ivanovic had won the German Open a month ago and it showed as she dominated Sharapova, forcing her to run all over the court, like a possessed Emily Rose. Sharapova was coming off a recent shoulder injury, so she was not the favourite, although no-one predicted her getting thrashed like a Pinada.
Sharapova said,
“I felt like I gave her the chances to open up the court and she was always the one getting to the ball first.
I would have liked my serve to be more effective but giving her the first ball wasn’t a great game plan. There were a lot of sloppy errors and I just couldn’t find any rhythm.”
Ivanovic said,
“I played a great match and didn’t miss much. I was expecting a tough match but took my opportunities.
Maria likes to dominate but I knew she’s not a great mover so I tried to play the ball deep and put her under pressure. She went for the big shots but I was there.
Now I will look forward to the final, it’s my first in a Grand Slam and I’m very excited about it.”
Sharapova likes to dominate… a quote I’m sure will have many pubescent boys reaching for the tissues. Although I’ll admit I never was able to figure out, why the big deal over Sharapova? She’s OK looking I guess, but she’s frickin’ 6 foot tall! It’s like falling in love with a giraffe. Women shouldn’t be taller than 5′8. Maybe I’m just saying that because I’m a tiny git… but I don’t think so.
I really don’t see the appeal of a 6 foot women… with her slender body… and long legs… and tight ass…
Yeah… I just don’t get it. Now if you’ll excuse me… I need the toilet. I have tissue in there.
PS: Ivanovic will meet Justine Henin Hardenne in the final after she thrashed Serbia’s Delena Jankovic 6-2 6-2.
