Hrithik is going to be a teacher in ‘Kites’

Posted by tigger in Hrithik Roshan, Kangana Ranaut, Rakesh Roshan

Hrithik Roshan dancing

But his area of expertise isn’t really academic. We still don’t know much about Hrithik Roshan’s new movie Kites, but I’m guessing Rakesh Roshan is carefully leaking out bits of information to the press to make sure that no one loses complete interest in the movie. A smart publicity move really.

So, the latest bit that we’ve found out about the film that Hrithik’s character will be a salsa teacher and Kangana Ranaut plays a rich socialite who falls in love with him. Reports suggest that Hrithik has become so involved in getting his moves right that he barely meets anyone, which would explain his lack of public appearances.

I’m not sure if they’ve set a release date on the movie yet, but I don’t know why Hrithik’s movies always take so long!

Harman the Punjabi

Posted by tigger in Brett Lee, Harman Baweja, Hrithik Roshan

Harman Baweja

Harman Baweja is looking forward to the release of his new movies Victory and It’s my Life. Right now he’s just known as the guy that had to swallow his words big time when his over-hyped movie blew up in his face, but he’s hoping that he might be one day considered to be an actor, even if he is known as a poor man’s Hrithik Roshan.

His work in Victory has brought him face to face with lots of cricketers including Brett Lee, Shoaib Malik and Harbhajan Singh. Harman has gotten particularly close to Harbhajan, since they’re both Punjabi and says,

“Bhajji is someone I hit it off with. We both are Punjabi boys, so we took off on the full sarson da saag makke di roti conversation. But over all cricketers, like all of us are completely normal guys. So the only thing that I admire is that somewhere they play for their country and I think it’s commendable.”

I love sarson ka saag and makkai ki roti too…dammit, does that mean I have to embrace my Punjabiness too? Does that mean I’m just like Harbhajan too? The horror!

Michael Jackson stalks Hrithik

Posted by tigger in Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan

Michael Jackson has been pretty quiet for a while, which is quite surprising for him, but he recently came out of the woodwork to meet our Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan.

Hrithik is in Los Angeles shooting for Kites and was quite shocked when between shoots, two burly men suddenly appeared in his dressing room. Since they weren’t wearing veils or something random like that, he couldn’t have suspected that they were Michael Jackson’s until MJ himself stepped into the room.

The source reports that Michael introduced himself to Hrithik and they spoke for a while before MJ went back to his spaceship. I have no idea what they would have talked about…is it bad manners to comment on the complete breakdown of someone’s professional life?

Priyanka trying to bail Harman out again

Posted by tigger in Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Amrita Rao, Harman Baweja, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan

Brett Lee Harman Baweja Victory

Harman Baweja might have a director daddy but he still needs help from his girlfriend Priyanka Chopra to lift his movies out of obscurity. For Love Story 2050, Priyanka stepped in when Kareena Kapoor pulled out of the production and even though the movie flopped, at least there was a female co-star to act opposite Harman.

For his new movie Victory, a cricket-themed flick, Harman actually does have a co-star (Amrita Rao) but no one actually wants to buy the completed movie, since Harman doesn’t have the best foundation to stand on (he’s the poor man’s Hrithik Roshan). That’s why he asked Priyanka to step in again with an item song to raise the publicity of the movie, especially since Priyanka’s star power has gotten a boost again with Dostana and Fashion.

Adlabs is trying to sell the movie to the highest bidder, but no one is willing to touch the thing since the recession and unless your name is Akshay, Shah Rukh or Aamir, you have to be cheap.

Ash is friends with Sanjay again

Posted by tigger in Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Shah Rukh Khan

Aishwarya Rai

Is Aishwarya Rai getting desperate for a hit again? Bechaari Ash, I guess she must be worried about her miniscule (I think) role in Pink Panther 2 that she’s decided that she has to make her mark in Bollywood again and who better to do it with? Her old favourite director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who made her famous through Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam and Devdas.

Even Ash knows that the few hits she’s had recently has not relied on her presence and she would love to have a role where she took the limelight again. So she’s signed another movie with the director and will be starring opposite Hrithik Roshan.

So that’s one argument sorted…I doubt that Shah Rukh Khan will be that ready to bury the hatchet though, his career isn’t as threatened as Ash’s, especially if Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi turns out to be a hit.

Hrithik wants to be bad

Posted by tigger in Hrithik Roshan, John Abraham, Rakesh Roshan

Krrish

At least it’s only on the big screen. For all Krrish fans, you’re in luck. It looks like a sequel for Krrish is being planned by papa Rakesh Roshan and son Hrithik Roshan. Even though it’s still in the pipeline, I suppose there must be a script around and Hrithik is so excited about it, he wishes he could leave his superhero role to play the villain.

“All I can say at this point is I wish I could play the villain in ‘Krrish 3′. I’m really excited about the villain’s role. So much so that I feel like giving up the superhero’s mantle to play villain. His role is too exciting,”

I don’t know how good of a villain he makes though, as his attempt in Dhoom 2 just gave us a very hot and very likable villain. Not you Ash, we all hated you in that movie. And speaking of Dhoom and whether Aryan will be back for that role, Hrithik says,

“Well, I think ‘Dhoom’ is a fabulous franchise. It has to move on. Whether my character Aryan will be back or not remains to be seen. Anything is possible in the movies.

“The challenge for every ‘Dhoom’ or ‘Krrish’ film is to be bigger and brighter than before. I think we’re climbing the ladder very fast. Soon we needn’t fear comparisons with our Hollywood counterparts.”

And looks-wise comparisons? What will it be girls? Hrithik Roshan or Brad Pitt? Antonio Banderas or John Abraham?

Jodhaa-Akbar finally complete!

Posted by tigger in Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan, Suzanne Khan

Now we just wait, twiddle our thumbs and wait for it to come out in theaters. Stars Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan are already celebrating, attending a wrap party with their spouses and dancing the night away. Well, not really, Hrithik and Suzanne left early but Ash and Abhi had fun, Abhishek Bachchan even playing at being DJ.

A source says:

“Hrithik, Abhishek and Ash were seen making the best out of their dancing skills. Though Hrithik and Susanne left a bit early, Ash and Abhishek continued to have a great time. Abhishek took over as the DJ while Ash and the rest of the gang were seen dancing to the songs that he played.”

The movie is supposed to be released on 25th January 2008 but it may be a late with so many delays in production occurring. For the uninformed, the movie is about the alliance between the Mughal and Rajput empires, with the inter-religious arranged marriage of Emperor Akbar and princess Jodhabai. I love movies where arranged marriages work out…

Though Barbara Cartland may have stolen this plot for one of her books…huh? No, I don’t read crap like Barbara Cartland. Ah, just stop reading and watch the promo above.
