Neha Dhupia was one of older bikini babes in Bollywood, who made a name for herself literally based on the fact that she would dress in skimpy clothes and was willing to do scenes that other actresses would balk at. But as a new generation of bikini-girls come into the industry, Neha is a bit miffed that she didn’t get the same acclaim but is still very content with her lot.
“…the satisfaction is immense, and the contentment I derive from my work today is multifold. Being a part of simple, beautiful films like ‘Mithya’, ‘Maharathi’, ‘Dasvidaniya’ and working with the likes of Vinay Pathak, Rajat Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Paresh Rawal… has given me more than money ever could. They’re stalwarts and they do no wrong!”"
As for the skin shows, Neha thinks that it’s too overrated now,
“Now those hypocritical, double-standard people are wearing bikinis themselves. And those who reprimanded me are applauding them like there’s no tomorrow! But you know what? I don’t think wearing a two-piece is cool anymore. I’ve been there, done that years ago!”
Well, she has a point there. Bikini’s have become so mainstream that no one actually cares anymore, although producers do tend to stress when lead actresses will be appearing in a two-piece for their movie. I guess that appeals to male Bollywood fans…

At least it’s only on the big screen. For all Krrish fans, you’re in luck. It looks like a sequel for Krrish is being planned by papa Rakesh Roshan and son Hrithik Roshan. Even though it’s still in the pipeline, I suppose there must be a script around and Hrithik is so excited about it, he wishes he could leave his superhero role to play the villain.
“All I can say at this point is I wish I could play the villain in ‘Krrish 3′. I’m really excited about the villain’s role. So much so that I feel like giving up the superhero’s mantle to play villain. His role is too exciting,”
I don’t know how good of a villain he makes though, as his attempt in Dhoom 2 just gave us a very hot and very likable villain. Not you Ash, we all hated you in that movie. And speaking of Dhoom and whether Aryan will be back for that role, Hrithik says,
“Well, I think ‘Dhoom’ is a fabulous franchise. It has to move on. Whether my character Aryan will be back or not remains to be seen. Anything is possible in the movies.
“The challenge for every ‘Dhoom’ or ‘Krrish’ film is to be bigger and brighter than before. I think we’re climbing the ladder very fast. Soon we needn’t fear comparisons with our Hollywood counterparts.”
And looks-wise comparisons? What will it be girls? Hrithik Roshan or Brad Pitt? Antonio Banderas or John Abraham?

Or is it just a nice publicity stunt to boost falling theater sales? Well, you know I’m a cynic, so making your new co-stars claim that they’re dating is a good way to make people come see them in your crap movie. Well done Mr. Bhansali. Well played.
But let’s just assume that we believe them and Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor really are dating. Apparently their love blossomed on the sets of Black, where both were assistants to Sanjay Leela Bhansali. After a few dates they were smitten but were cruelly torn apart when Ranbir went to the US to attend film school (maybe he could suggest the same to Bhansali?) and they drifted apart. Ranbir then came back and had a fling with Deepika Padukone…but all thoughts of Deepika left his mind when he met Sonam again on the sets of Saawariya. Their eyes met across the room…she smiled shyly…he grinned…they hugged and love was reborn. Oh puhleez - roll eyes- So now they’re a couple again and are planning to live happily ever after. Though it’s claimed that Sanjay told the lovebirds not to talk about their romance…at least until the film flops, so he can use the extra publicity.
The sweet nothings that they whisper in each other’s ears?
Ranbir:
“I wish I could be like Sonam. She’s just such an honest and open person. It’s a beautiful quality to possess,”
Sonam:
“Ranbir is someone I can really rely on. I know that I can call him at four in the morning and he’ll be there for me,”
That’s very sweet. Their families have given their approval…oh well, at least they aren’t related. Small blessings.

I’m still not sure if it’s admirable to fill little kids head with the garbage of Bollywood movies. Yeah, yeah, I know I watch them, but I’m old enough to know better to not burst into dance every time I hear ‘Deewangi Deewangi’. Anyways, whatever your views are (and you’re always welcome to tell me), Shah Rukh Khan is carrying on with the brainwashing by showing a free screening of Om Shanti Om to underprivileged children at Mumbai’s Gaity cinema.
The nice part was that Shah Rukh, Deepkika Padukone and Arjun Rampal were all there, which must have given the kids a kick. Picture above from the show.
SRK talks:
“I love children and wanted these children to see the film because it has humorous angles too. We keep on doing such events for children,”
Deepika chips in:
“It was amazing spending time with these children. As a child I was very good in sports,”
Um, and what does Deepika being talented at sports have to do with the kids? Nothing whatsoever…
But the real strength of Om Shanti Om will be tested next week, because most people went in because of the hype…now let’s see if people go in because it’s any good. Though the Pakistani cricket team gave it a big thumbs down, watching it on their day off…except now they’re losing…Tendulker is making them pay for saying Shah Rukh sucks.
