Bollywood remaking ‘Back to the Future’

Posted by tigger in Aishwarya Rai, Akshay Kumar

Back to Bollywood

Man, I suck at messing around with pictures…

Anyways, Bollywood hates me and is planning to destroy all the fond childhood memories I have of my favourite trilogy, Back to the Future.

I’m going to assume that you’ve all watched the original film (at least the first one) so I don’t have to rehash the story. Bollywood is going to remake the movie with Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar set to play Marty’s parents. There’s no confirmation about these roles but the role of Marty was supposedly offered to Ranbir Kapoor who refused the role because of scheduling conflicts.

This is just tragic…they are going to ruin the movie. Didn’t they realise that time travel doesn’t work? Wasn’t Love Story 2050 enough to prove that? Poor Michael J Fox…

Ash is not having a merry Christmas

Posted by tigger in Aishwarya Rai, Katrina Kaif

Aishwarya Rai Nakshatra

First L’Oreal and now Nakshatra Jewellery. Is Aishwarya Rai’s reign as the so-called Queen of Bollywood over? Ash has been the face of Nakshatra Jewellery for the last 5 years, but their new ad campaign will definitely not feature her.

The ‘It’ girl of Bollywood is taking over. Katrina Kaif, who has too many inexplicable hits to her name already, is the new brand ambassador of Nakshatra and will be launching their new diamond range.

The MD of Nakshatra says,

“Nakshatra is synonymous with trust and purity in a category that is fraught with questionable practice. It epitomizes the expression of love and affection in a woman’s life. And with the coming together of two of the biggest brands the end result in the form of a TVC was breathtaking.”

Ash, what is going to be on your Christmas list this year? The return of fame and a PS3?

Ash is friends with Sanjay again

Posted by tigger in Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Shah Rukh Khan

Aishwarya Rai

Is Aishwarya Rai getting desperate for a hit again? Bechaari Ash, I guess she must be worried about her miniscule (I think) role in Pink Panther 2 that she’s decided that she has to make her mark in Bollywood again and who better to do it with? Her old favourite director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who made her famous through Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam and Devdas.

Even Ash knows that the few hits she’s had recently has not relied on her presence and she would love to have a role where she took the limelight again. So she’s signed another movie with the director and will be starring opposite Hrithik Roshan.

So that’s one argument sorted…I doubt that Shah Rukh Khan will be that ready to bury the hatchet though, his career isn’t as threatened as Ash’s, especially if Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi turns out to be a hit.

Jodhaa-Akbar finally complete!

Posted by tigger in Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan, Suzanne Khan

Now we just wait, twiddle our thumbs and wait for it to come out in theaters. Stars Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan are already celebrating, attending a wrap party with their spouses and dancing the night away. Well, not really, Hrithik and Suzanne left early but Ash and Abhi had fun, Abhishek Bachchan even playing at being DJ.

A source says:

“Hrithik, Abhishek and Ash were seen making the best out of their dancing skills. Though Hrithik and Susanne left a bit early, Ash and Abhishek continued to have a great time. Abhishek took over as the DJ while Ash and the rest of the gang were seen dancing to the songs that he played.”

The movie is supposed to be released on 25th January 2008 but it may be a late with so many delays in production occurring. For the uninformed, the movie is about the alliance between the Mughal and Rajput empires, with the inter-religious arranged marriage of Emperor Akbar and princess Jodhabai. I love movies where arranged marriages work out…

Though Barbara Cartland may have stolen this plot for one of her books…huh? No, I don’t read crap like Barbara Cartland. Ah, just stop reading and watch the promo above.
