Even though Aishwarya Rai and Vevek Oberoi are ancient history, some people just don't forget...or maybe that's what Vivek tells himself to justify his mediocre career.
When Vivek and Ash hooked up, ex-boyfriend Salman Khan tended to ignore the couple, except that Vivek, with all his newcomer naivety, tried to take on Prince Khan. He called a press conference where he insisted that Sallu was harassing and threatening him because of his relationship with Ash. While Salman never replied to these allegations, supposedly, all his friends in the industry started to keep their distance from Vivek, which culminated in his lacking career.
In his last two movies (
Mission Istanbul and
Shootout at Lokhandwala) Vivek never had a girl to dance with or feel up...the point being that Bollywood's actresses are a bit skittish to commit to play opposite Vivek.
Sources report things like,
"But the problems were far from over for the makers. When they set out to sing up an A-list actress opposite Vivek, they met with no success. Vidya Balan flatly refused to do the film, on hearing she would be paired opposite Vivek. She gave the age old excuse of dates being the problem. The hunt is still on!"
"When K.S. Adhiyaman decided to remake his Tamil super-hit Thoondil in Hindi, he finalized Vivek for the main lead. However, he too is facing difficulty in getting a top actress to play Vivek's love interest. Actresses like Priyanka and Bipasha have declined the film, despite the script having a powerful role for the female lead. Adhiyaman is still searching for a lead actress opposite Vivek for his romantic film."
So everyone is that loyal to Salman? I kinda doubt it, they just don't want to act with Vivek.

Vivek Oberoi

There's been a story doing the rounds that "actor" Vivek Oberoi had been slapped when he tried to get too friendly with some girl at a party where he got a bit tipsy. Turns out this wasn't the case. It never is, is it?
His publicist says,
"Nothing of this sort ever happened. Vivek is an extremely well-behaved and cultured boy, though often misunderstood.
All this talk about him being involved in a thing like this is simply rubbish and a figment of the newspaper's over-creative imagination."
Well, I can't deny that. Us tabloid trash will do anything to sell a story, even make up fictitious incidents about a two-bit actor which would send our reader numbers soaring.
"It's a vicious circle of demand and supply. I guess, the media just does it to fill their pages on a daily basis. The irony is, innocent actors often get dragged and defamed in the process".
See what I mean? I'm expecting to get a 10000 digg votes from this story. C'mon guys, you know you wanna click it.
It’s always tough to lose a parent or any other loved one, even if they had been sick for a while. Amitabh Bachchan lit the funeral pyre of his mother Teji Bachchan on Saturday. Mrs. Bachchan died on Friday after a long illness that had kept her in the hospital for the last year. She was cremated at the Juhu Cremation Ground, where the family was in attendance along with some other folks.
“Several dignitaries, including former Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, actor Vivek Oberoi, industrialist Anil Ambani, Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh and film director Pehlaj Nihlani were in attendance.”
Question…why is Vivek Oberoi classified as a dignitary? He’s a C-list actor. And while the gesture is nice of him, I wonder how Abhishek Bachchan feels that his wife’s ex-boyfriend came to his Dadi’s funeral.
May she rest in peace. The old bird lived to a nice ripe age of 90. Too bad Ash couldn’t give her a grandkid before she passed away. For shame Aishwarya, for shame!

Sunil Shetty,
Vivek Oberoi,
Zayed Khan
Wow, I know he's not the greatest of actors, but that's just harsh. Oh wait, no, he just did it for a stunt. Brave boy. Except you know, he doesn't listen when people say don't do the stunt. I don't know if he's stubborn or just stupid.
Director Apoorva Lakhia wasn't particularly impressed however, with Zayed Khan's daredevilism (is that even a word?) and says:
"He (Zayed) wanted to do a risky stunt himself. I refused. We rehearsed it with a double. But at the last minute Zayed was adamant. He insisted on doing it even as I protested,"
"If I had my way I'd have definitely not allowed it. We're in a foreign land. And, on top of it, my producer Suniel Shetty's partner Shhabir Boxwallah had to rush back to Mumbai because his mother was ill. Almost the entire unit is composed of young people - Zayed, Viveik Oberoi etc. I've to take production decisions which I hate."
They're shooting in Istanbul for new movie
Mission Istanbul (wow, what a coincidence) and Zayed decided that he'll definitely be breaking some bones that day and crashed through an eighth-storey window and on to a truck on the road. Not enough excitement in your life? Go on a roller coaster dude, this is unnecessary!

I mean, why else would he ignore Vivek Oberoi? The guy never did anything to him besides call a press conference and accuse one of the Bollywood 'Khan's of being a drunkard and harassing him and then-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai with threatening SMSs...
Oh.
Well then, maybe Salman doesn't need glasses, but he could have been nicer about the whole thing. It's been years, get over it. Ash is married now and neither of you got her.
At a recent awards function, Vivek decided to bury the hatchet and apologised to Salman in front of a packed hall. He grabbed his ears and bowed in front of Salman, mouthing 'bhai' (brother). So either he was asking for forgiveness or calling Salman a gangster. Whatever it was, Salman shook his head in refusal and the world goes on.
A friend of Vivek's said:
"It was a spur of the moment thing. Vivek suddenly decided to bow in front of Salman and smile at him. But Salman smiled back."
"Vivek is all-heart. He is also impulsive and spontaneous. The gesture was not premeditated. It was a cute, let's-forget-the-past gesture. Vivek has always been gracious about the whole incident."
I hate to say this, but Salman didn't come off too well in this. Shilpa Shetty even entreated Salman to accept the apology but Salman just stuck out his tongue at Vivek and said he would never forgive the poopoo head.

Could Aishwarya's ex have shacked up with Saif's ex? That isn't exactly the question on anyone's lips at the moment...after all, Bollywood star's exes are of no interest to anyone, including themselves. It's like they lose interest in life after breaking up with their way more famous half.
But could two people be drawn together in their mediocrity and lack of fame?Apparently yes, even though they're too ashamed to admit it. Reports say that the two have gone out often and get along surprisingly well. Well, why wouldn't they? They have so much in common!
But Rosa, that wily little minx says:
“Vivek? I haven’t even had a conversation with him.”
Because you've been too busy doing other things? Naughty Naughty!
On crummy roles that is, but Mr. Bachchan-Rai and could-have-been Mr. Oberoi-Rai have reportedly been missing out on roles because the other has been involved in the production.
Obviously Abhishek Bachchan doesn't want to work with his wife's ex-boyfriend and Vivek Oberoi doesn't want to work with Abhi because...um, he's way shorter than him? Abhishek supposedly had a role in new film
Mission Istanbul, but pulled out because of Vivek's involvement and Vivek was supposed to have a small role in
Guru, that he also made excuses and got out of it.
Can these guys afford to give up these roles? I mean, the only thing they're famous for is for hanging around with Ash. They should actually have alot in common...they could compare notes!

Why do they even call him a bad boy anymore? He hasn't done anything bad for ages!
But Sallu seems to want to change that image, and not just by dating Katrina. The actor has started two foundations recently, The 'Salman Khan Foundation' and 'Being Human' that is aimed at caring for underprivileged children. And coolest thing? Salman says he won't be begging money from anyone, but all the funds will come from his own pocket...whether it's from appearing at more events or selling his paintings.
Salman has somethings to say about his costars:
Meanwhile Salman claims that he gets along with most of his male co-stars. Recently when asked if he would do a film with Abhishek Bachchan, Salman said “Why would I have a problem with Abhishek? However he definitely did not share the same feelings for actors John Abraham and Vivek Oberoi. On John Salman said “There is no equation, I don’t know that man.” And as for working with Vivek Oberoi in his trademark sarcastic style he said “Who’s that, Oh little Vivek, that idiot! Of course not.” Well something’s about Salman will never change, we guess.
Now that's classic. I like Salman again.

Vivek Oberoi
The ex Mr. Rai (Sometimes carelessly known as Vivek Oberoi) has decided to open up, regarding his oft-debated (in my mind) sexuality.
Rai/Oberoi says,
"I am single. This whole lady-killer bit is too much. If I go by what is being reported about me, it would seem I am dating everything that walks on two legs. See, I do flirt a bit, but I am a hopeless romantic at the end of the day. I am the kind of guy who believes in a glass of wine, poetry and some music the perfect sense of romance."
I'll ignore the lady killer bit. I assume he's joking because his is a face that only his mum (When she's very very drunk can love). And... I get the wine bit (If you're not a muslim... or from one of those religions that says no alcohol... if you are.
Shame on you!) and even the flirting.
But poetry... pfft... I've seen manlier women... with long hair... in skirts... wearing tops that say "I'm a women"...
Bravo Vivek!

If Vivek Oberoi thought his days of being connected to Aishwarya Rai were over, boy, was he wrong.
Asihwarya will now be acting in a new Hollywood film
Singularity and while actors Brendan Fraser and Vivek were connected to it, in all likelihood, Vivek won't be in the cast because of his previous involvement with the new Mrs Abhishek Bachchan.
I feel sorry for the poor guy...first being a breakthrough star, then dating a Miss World...now he's reduced to being an almost-been and his ex-girlfriend is making him lose jobs! That's tough!
