We all know that Shahid Kapoor was busy shooting in Toronto for Kismat Konnection, and even though the actor is known for being a professional, he also showed why he still looks like a boy and retains those mischievous dimples (ok, they're not proper dimples, but close enough).

Shahid learned how to rollerblade while in Canada, although he wasn't that good with it to begin with. The biggest problem for him was stopping and even though he's learned how to do a few tricks, he couldn't work out how to hit the brakes without smashing his face into the ground. Ah, if only they had called me to help him ;-) but someone on the set was appointed to help him out when he couldn't stop.

This story sounds a bit dodgy...I mean, it's rollerblading, not brain surgery and I don't think that Bollywood sets have become that frivolous that a person is hired just to make sure Shahid can stop. But the good news is that Shahid kept going until he worked it out on his own.

Shahid also got the entire crew involved in a little prank he wanted to play on Vidya Balan, after he discovered that she's a bit frightened of ghosts and monsters and bought a freaky mask to get her. Um, I have to take off points for unoriginality (hey, I'm trying to be objective here) but I guess that joke never gets old.

So Shahid went to Vidya's room with the entire crew in tow, who wanted to see Vidya's reaction. He knocked and it wasn't Vidya that opened the door but her mother. Now don't ask what was her mother doing there, but her reaction was priceless...instead of screaming, a stage hand reports,

"Vidya's mom didn't know it was Shahid who was behind the mask. She thought he was an intruder so she held on to him tightly and called for security. Of course when the security guys came, everyone cracked up because the entire unit was in on the plan as Shahid had taken everyone into confidence."

Wow, that's a brave woman, I must say.

Speaking of actresses that want to change their image, it seems like Vidya Balan is now also one of them.

While other actresses or actors change their image by dressing differently, shaping up (or down), Vidya seems to think the best way to show the world she's changed is by...scrawling on herself? The Kismat Konnection actress has already booked an appointment with a tattoo artist in Mumbai and is set to follow fellow actors like Saif Ali Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Esha Deol (As far as I know, Shah Rukh's is just temporary, since it's a big freaky green 'Mike Tyson'-like tattoo).

Vidya is supposedly getting the tattoo just above her heart but hasn't said if it will be a design, words or the special someone's name...

Hmm, is Vidya my new target for uninterrupted ridicule and humiliation? Looks like she's going to be!

That's not the most original of titles, but what can you do? Let's talk about Shahid so we can all have a good weekend. Shahid Kapoor has spoken out about Sania Mirza and Vidya Balan again and guess what he said? Um, the usual, that they're just friends.

"Vidya is my co-star and we are good friends. But this isn't your Bollywood kind of good friend. I mean, she's a nice girl, a fantastic co-star and one of the many friends I have," "Incidentally, Sania Mirza is also a friend and we meet, but there's no romance. I guess I'm an easy target because I'm single."

No, you're an easy target because you're drop-dead gorgeous...am I crossing the line here, from admiration to slight obsessiveness? Oh well, it's Shahid we're talking about here. In another cute story, Shahid was shooting in school in Pune recently and when it was recess, it's not hard to guess where those kids were. About 200 kids clambered around Shahid, demanding attention and refusing to go back to class once the break was over. Well, even if Shahid couldn't make them go, he did spend some time with them and told them to study hard and stay in school. Not exactly the most original of advice but it's good advice nonetheless and it's great that Shahid spent some time with the kids...lucky brats! And there we are for the week. I'm officially on holiday, so updating should become more regular now but I'm on a new life path here where I do the most important things first...so while I love you guys, family, friends, work, chores, keeping my room clean etc all come first...but then it's definitely SoggyCornflakes readers! Whoohoo! Another fun Friday Shahid post. Yes, I have had too much sugar, but who cares? So let's go over some news stories about Shahid Kapoor doing the rounds this week. Shahid is done shooting for Kismat Konnection (I think) and is now shooting for Ken Ghosh's still untitled film with Jiah Khan. Apparently Vidya Balan misses her new friend though and reportedly drove up to sets one day to take Shahid out for lunch. But is Shahid really anything more than friends with Vidya, since other sources report that he keeps in constant touch with tennis player Sania Mirza. On the other hand, there could be something real going on between the Vidya and Shahid because Vidya is even going to great lengths to avoid Kareena Kapoor. The actresses both performed at the Zee Cine Awards and both had been booked to practice at the same venue. When Vidya found out that Bebo was still inside practicing with Saif, she just sat in her car for a few hours while Kareena finished, to avoid any face-to-face meeting. That's kinda sad...why couldn't she have just gone elsewhere to pass time? Jiah Khan explains the debacle behind the over-familiar SMS's that she sent to Shahid that almost got her kicked out of Ken's film and claims that wasn't her sending the texts. Don't you just love that word, 'claimed'...in journalism lingo, it's another way of saying that we think the person is talking crap. Jiah says that someone else sent those texts under her name...how very convenient.

“It’s so cheap to send compromising messages in someone else’s name,” “Those were sent by someone else in my name. I’m so new to all this manipulation scheming and negativity.”

Well, isn't she just a ray of innocent sunshine? If she had just admitted, "I'm obsessed with Shahid Kapoor and I may have gotten a bit over-excited at meeting him" we would have totally understood, because, who isn't? But trying to fob it off as a conspiracy that someone wants to get her...please, she's not famous enough to have her own conspiracy theory. I know that doesn't make much sense, but who cares? And this is why it's a good thing to check your email in the middle of the night. Hey guys, I just got home tonight and luckily logged on and one of my favourite commenters and Shahid-fanclub pal Sarah gave me the heads up that the trailer for Kismat Konnection just came out. Thanks Sarah, we owe you! So girls, eat your heart out. As for me, I'm off to bed with a smile on my face. Sweet dreams!

While some Bollywood actors and actresses drag themselves across the border sometimes, very few do it because the Indian government is making them do it. Pritam Chakraborty is one of those however, who is forced to go to Pakistan because of his love of music, the new singer he wants to record with and the lack of an Indian visa. Not for Pritam of course, but Pakistani singer Atif. Even though borders have dropped somewhat between the countries, Pakistani's don't always have the most luck getting visas and since some composers like working with Pakistani's (Pritam included), they're either gonna have to pull some strings or go to Pakistan themselves. So that's why Pritam is now on his way to Lahore to get Atif to record a song for Aziz Mirza's Kismat Konnection, starring Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan. Pritam is looking forward to it though,

"I need to urgently record a song with Atif for Aziz Mirza's Kismat Connection. But he is suddenly having problems with his passport. So he can't come to Mumbai I'm flying down to Lahore to record the song with him." "I've never been to Pakistan. And Jannat which has my music is being premiered in Pakistan later this month. So it would be mixing business with pleasure."

Er, good for him. Take me with, I also wanna go to Pakistan!

Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration but after the chemistry between Tabu and Amitabh Bachchan was commended in Cheeni Kum (Less Sugar), Tabu will let Big B move on to younger co-stars. Cheeni Kum director R Balki has started a new project entitled Paa (Dad) and has pulled in Amitabh for the lead role along with Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan. Vidya has the bad habit of being linked with all her co-stars but it's unlikely that it'll happen this time. Sort story, I know, but don't feel like making fun of celebs tonight. More tomorrow!

The obvious answer would be "Pick me!" It's Friday and since I like the idea of Friday's last post being about Shahid, here you go. A lot of news doing the rounds this week, so this will be an ultra-Shahid post. Don't blame me if his adorable-ness knocks you flat. I never really liked the story of Romeo and Juliet, since I don't believe that love has to end in death. But Vishal Bharadwaaj is making things happy for us (so I guess that means no death scene at the end?) and guess who the very hot Romeo will be? Big duh, our Shahid Kapoor. And his Juliet will be Priyanka Chopra...now, I like Priyanka, I just think she might be a bit tall for Shahid...how tall is she? Shahid is already in for the project but Vishal is still waiting for the nod from Priyanka. Since Priyanka and Kareena have had issues, isn't that more reason to act with her? One person that Shahid doesn't want to act with however, is Jiah Khan. Supposedly, Jiah is out of Ken Ghosh's film (again) and this time the reason is Shahid Kapoor...well, it's not really him, it's her. Reports suggest that Jiah came on too strongly onto Shahid soon after meeting him on the set, and while he was polite, he kept his distance and then asked Ken to remove her. Heehee, that makes Ken sound like a hitman. I don't really blame Jiah for acting like that, but my response to Shahid would have been restricted to starring at him in a daze, probably drooling at the same time. I'm very smooth around guys. And lastly, could Shahid be going out with Vidya Balan? The Kismat Konnection co-stars were apparently sighted in a little suburban restaurant with another friend, who may be on drugs, since it was said that she just stared off into space. Hello, which girl can ignore Shahid? When the bill came, Vidya grabbed at it, laughing,

“Let me pay. If you don’t allow me, next time I’ll never come out with you again,”

So has Vidya's whining about her single life come to an end? Maybe, but I don't believe rumours unless there's some evidence to back them up...so the Loch Ness Monster exists, ok? Before you start getting any weird thoughts and your minds blow up, it's not what you think. Vidya Balan spends a lot of time shooting and therefore, can't keep up with her friends. That's why at night she calls them and has long talks to catch up.

"I know I am busy shooting, but I try to catch up with friends late night after shoots,"

That's very sweet of her. My friends don't call me much...though it would help if my friends weren't stuffed. But hey, you have to do the best with what you have. I love you Dude! And believe it or not, that's all I have to say for today. More tomorrow, hope you all had less hectic weekends than me. Toodles.

I haven't been able to write/obsess about Shahid Kapoor for ages, but I finally found a news story on him. So yay! And it's something positive as well, so another yay! Apparently Shahid became kinda depressed after his break-up with Kareena Kapoor. While I don't understand the logic in that, we can understand that when a long term relationship breaks down, there's bound to be some sadness. Some people turn to alcohol when sad but thankfully Shahid wasn't trying to be a modern day Devdas...he picked up the smoking habit though, on the set's of Kismet Konnection where he stars with Vidya Balan. But he's on the road to recovery, after promising friends and family he'd quit and obviously, after seeing the ill effects of his habit. A close friend says,

"Shahid was a complete teetotaler, but he started smoking on the sets of Kismet Connection in Canada after his break-up with Kareena. He was often stressed out and we didn’t realize what was wrong with him. Suddenly, we saw him smoking heavily during the shoots. We thought it was work-related stress, but we were worried when we saw that he had become a chain smoker.” “Shahid realized that a lot had changed in his personal and professional life. Kareena has moved on and so has he. He has accepted things and is happier after Jab We Met was hugely appreciated. He doesn’t need cigarettes anymore!”
