I'm surprised to say this, but Koena Mitra shows a surprising amount of common sense in a recent interview. Extracts below...

Q. Secret behind your sexy figure?
A. It’s a combination of a good balanced diet accompanied with exercises. For me exercises can be walking, swimming or playing any kind of sports. Fitness is the best formula to look good and feel better.

I only miss my exercises when am back after a long schedule as at that moment I just want to relax and my destination is my bedroom.

Q. It looks to be a kind of fashion in Bollywood to fall in love with a married man. Would you prefer to follow the same?
A. No way, if today he can ditch somebody for me, tomorrow he may dump me, too.

Big duh...Sushmita Sen, are you listening?

Some people are just disgusting. Including the little brat that managed to get a hold of Sushmita Sen's cellphone number and sent her lewd and obscene SMS's. He also sent a package with dirt pictures. Sush was not amused by this unwanted attention and filed a police report, which led to the capture of the kid ASAP. Well, he's not a kid really, being a university student. But now he's behind bars so we can all sleep safely knowing that Sushmita will not be hounded by dirt text messages. And for the final time, will someone please tell me how these random people get hold of stars cellphone numbers? And while you're doing that, get me Shahid Kapoor's number please!

Since Sushmita Sen's last relationship was with a married man, maybe it;s understandable that she's a bit against marriage herself...or at least she thinks she's not ready to chain herself to the ball just yet. She does want to get married however, but not making much sense as she says so,

"I have been planning to get married for seven years now. Plans do not work but the right man does. I think it's not time for me to get married yet," "Moreover, I am already experiencing and enjoying the better half of marriage - I am a mother!"

Er...so wait, she's found the right guy but it's not the right time? She hasn't found the right guy and that's why she doesn't wanna get married? Why do people confuse me like that?!

While that’s a useful knowledge, it’s very sad that you have to learn it because someone close to you is infected, as is the case with actress Sushmita Sen. She’s caring for the family of one of her former staffers, who’s passed away because of the disease, leaving an infected wife and fortunately uninfected children.

“The one good thing that came out of this whole experience was my rapport with my former staffer Ashutosh (name changed) and his wife Namrata (name changed) and their two sons. I'm full of such admiration for this woman of 29. She's younger and far less urbane than me. But her wisdom and her acumen in the face of such imminent tragedy just makes feel so small."

Sushmita’s conscious has been weighing her down since she knew nothing about her worker’s illness and she feels slightly better now that she’s getting treatment for his wife and helping his family. Sushmita did get to speak with Ashutosh before he died and was disturbed that she had to inform his wife about her status at his funeral.

"He got out of his coma long enough to speak to me once on the cell-phone. He heard me, and he cried. 24 Hours afterwards he died. The next day I flew in from Goa to do his last rites." "I not only had to deal with the death of a staffer I loved immensely, I also had to break the news of his wife's illness to her at the cremation itself. This entire harrowing incident was so unexpected."

I can’t be flip about this, so I’ll just say this. Sushmita Sen is good, not that I’m one to judge, but I have a new-found respect for her.

With so much Shah Rukh Khan news around, I can't be bothered to write separate posts, so you'll get a super SRK post and don't blame me if his arrogance knocks you over. Firstly, Shah Rukh is acting in a new romantic movie with Sushmita Sen. Ok, not really, but since everyone liked his relationship with Sushmita in Main Hoon Na (um, wasn't she taller than him?) that he makes a guest appearance in her new movie Dulha Mil Gaya (I found the Groom). Sush says:

"Shah Rukh and I are getting together again in 'Dulha Mil Gaya', though Shah Rukh only makes a guest appearance in the film,"

And she also talks about how Salman Khan isn't conscious about his height, as she'll be partnering up with him again in David Dhawan's new comedy:

"I love working with him. We've such a beautiful equation. He's one hero who doesn't let me feel my height. On the contrary whenever I kick off my high heels he asks me to put them on. It's not hard to see why he's so loved."

And Shah Rukh really does annoy people, whether it's by having stupid scenes in Om Shanti Om or being disgustingly tactless. A scene in OSO showed a young Manoj Kumar being beaten up and the real Manoj is not impressed. Farah Khan and Shah Rukh say that they apologised to him and he accepted the apology: Shah Rukh says:

"I and Farah have apologized to Manoj-ji over phone and we will go to meet him personally as well,"

Farah says:

"He (Manoj Kumar) was very sweet and said there was no need to apologize, 'you are like my children'. We even offered to remove the scene from the film if it hurt him so much, but he said there was no need at all for that,"

But other sources say that Manoj hasn't accepted the apology and Shah Rukh and Farah and going to have to do a lot more groveling before he's happy with the apology. And lastly, Shah Rukh shows how stupid he is by smoking around Farah Khan, even when he knows that she's pregnant with triplets. Shah Rukh was told off by the National Organization for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE) to quit smoking in public and, instead of accepting that he made a mistake smoking just said that the places where he was smoking was private property and threatened to sue NOTE for sending him legal notices. Charming...moron. Even if you wanna kill yourself (believe me, no one cares) at least have some respect for your friend's health. If Farah's kids are born with flippers, we know who to blame. Could anyone be more arrogant?

As the A-List of Bollywood flock to the premiere. Besides the cast of the movie, most of Bollywood's old families were there, including Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Akshaye Khanna, Kangana Ranaut, Diya Mirza, Lara Dutta, Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Amisha Patel, Sushmita Sen, Soha Ali Khan and Siddharth. Guess who wasn't there? Obviously the cast of Om Shanti Om, who were a bit too busy getting ready for their own premiere. Too have a looksy as all the stars, click here. Awww, don't they all look pretty. It's like a wedding...without the yummy food and no one is getting screwed for life. Just joking...I love weddings. I'm not sure if I want to be the one getting married just yet though. The storyline...which wasn't particularly clear before sounds a bit Romeo and Juliet-esque to me. Like the star-crossed lovers and madness stemming from rejection. At least they didn't kill themselves...I hope they didn't do that. I hate sad movies. Fun fact: Saif and Kareena were holding on for dear life...and Shahid was there too.

We've seen a multitude of Miss India's making it in Bollywood, Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Tunushree Dutta, Sushmita Sen...or at least you need to win some beauty pageant to get into the industry, as the above have done. Now you'll get to see Miss India 2003 Nikita Anand in a new movie and she's reported to be the next big thing; as most new actresses are. You can judge for yourself: her new movie is Dil Dosti Etc. On the other hand, Miss India 2007 feels that Bollywood is below her and she won't take anything below Hollywood. Sarah Jane Dias, Femina Miss India-World says:

"I am not really interested in Bollywood. What attracts me is Hollywood,"

So when will we see her in the latest Wal-Mart ad?

Once a colleague of luminaries like Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen, former model Geetanjali Nagpal was seen begging on the streets of Delhi. She is currently under the care of the Delhi Commission for Women and has been diagnosed with psychosis. She is said to be disinherited by her family... I could make a joke... But I won't... Because this is just sad... Although to be painfully honest she was never really a "colleague" of Ash or Sush... or even a model actually... It would be like me saying that I'm a colleague of George Clooney because I once acted like I was sick... but I wasn't... but I stayed home from school... I'm so talented.

Sushmita Sen is in trouble...I think. The actress imported some car without paying tax on it. It was a Toyota Cruiser...don't they get that in India? According to reports:

Sushmita has claimed possession of the vehicle, saying that she had advanced some money to importer Vasu Thamala and Thamala in return had hypothicated the vehicle to her. But, an affidavit filed by MCGM vigilance officer Satish Rana alleges that the claim was completely false as the addresses of the alleged importer Thamala has been found to be non-existent.

Bad girl, bad girl, what you gonna do? What you gonna do when the tax people come for you?

Sushmita Sen has been out of the country for a while and she was wondering what rumours would have cropped up by then. She came back to discover that she was in an all-out war with Shah Rukh Khan.

"So that's what the tattlers have been talking about while I was out of the country? Shah Rukh and I at war? Interesting copy. But totally untrue. I've never had a problem with Shah Rukh. We had great fun shooting Main Hoon Na with Farah Khan. Although it was his home production he didn't once let me feel unwanted. It was great fun playing SRK's m'aam in that film."

Yeah, it must have been fun to duck down and wear flats the whole movie because you were taller than Shah Rukh. It must also have been fun to play a schoolteacher, since you usually play hooker roles....or naughty nurse roles. Wait, that wasn't hr role in Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? Aw man, I better go watch it again then.
