For all those who liked seeing Rishi Kapoor in those tight, sparkly white clothes, you might get a whiff of the past as Rishi joins son Ranbir Kapoor in his second movie Bachna Ae Haseeno in a updated version of the song of the same name.
There’s a lot of maybes in this report however since director Siddharth Anand still hasn’t asked Rishi to take part in the song. There was no guarantee that we’d even see that song unless it lived up to Siddharth’s expectations…it did, now he just has to shoot the video, which obviously includes Ranbir, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu and Manissha Lamba.
Sid says,
“Though I’m too scared to ask him as yet,”
“The only time Yashraj have done separate music videos for their films is for Dhoom. It’s the project that determines the promotion. I think we had a great title song and it was waiting to be used as a music video.”
While Siddharth is looking forward to the release of the movie, he doesn’t want to give anyone any expectations, except that Ranbir that is a very good actor. He’s just going to keep it a light romcom film…well, you can never really go wrong with those…

People are mean to Bipasha Basu…they won’t let her play any historic or period roles and she’s been dying to do that. But she’s finally getting a chance in Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Ashok. She’s full of admiration for the director,
“I’m really excited about doing the costume drama. To go back in time and recreate an era and character are challenging.
And the character of Tishayraksha is certainly not uni-dimensional. I’m in the entire film. The narrative is so captivating.
I think Raj Santoshi is a great visionary. Look at the performances he gets out of his actors! And to cast someone like me who otherwise has such a contemporary image in the Mauryan era requires guts.”
Though right now her only real film in the works is a Yash Raj production, where Ranbir Kapoor is a playa and romances three girls at a time. Bips is one of the three though she thinks that she’ll stand out.
“I’m dying to go back in time. For now I’m doing only one film. And that’s very very modern. The new Yashraj production directed by Siddharth Anand with Ranbir Kapoor.
Though there are other leading ladies in the film believe me, I’m confident I’ll be very strongly noticed. Every segment with different girls is very interesting.”
I like Sidd’s films so I’m hoping for something good rather than a glorification of Ranbir’s romancing prowess.

Don’t you all wish that Deepika Padukone would make up her mind and decide who’s she going to be with? After rumours of involvement with Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and player Yuvraj Singh, Deepika is now with Ranbir Kapoor. Or at least she doesn’t hate Ranbir Kapoor. Just depends on which website you get your information from.
It’s been reported that the two used to date in bygone times, but after shooting for Siddharth Anand’s next film, seems like the sparks are flying again…or at least the flame is re-lit, like one of those magical relighting candles that you just blow and blow and whenever you think it goes out, it whooshes up again. Then when you smash the cake is frustration, everyone gets all huffy and says you have anger management issues…whatever.
Though as romantic as shopping for a new music system sounds, I think the tabloids are making too much of the story, since the two only recently went back on cordial terms and as for Deepika’s stance on Yuvraj…
“People will keep spreading rumours and the media will keep writing about it, but my family and my friends know everything. I don’t applaud any single player, I clap for the whole team. The cricket team is playing well and is bringing glory to the country,”
Yeah, that’s why they were 76 all out against Australia…because the whole team was playing really well.

Because in his next movie, he’ll be playing a 17 year old, a 28 year old and a 35 year old. Talk about having to be a chameleon. The naughty, naked ‘naacher’ (Naacher being Tigger-Hindi for Dancer…you know, because all that alliteration sounds cool) will be playing a character in 3 different age settings in his next movie with Siddharth Anand. And his hair is also going to be different though the years…so any gal who liked his Beatles-wannabe look in Saawariya, get ready for something more modern and less gay.
Ranbir was asked after his haircut what was going on and replied with,
“I’ve to look compatible with my leading ladies, and yes, this is my first of the three looks for my new film. Working with Siddarth is a very give-and-take thing. We’ve been friends from the time both of us were kids.
His father is my dad’s best friend and his mom and my mom are close friends. So naturally we had no choice but to be friends.”
That’s like being forced to play nice because you can totally tell on each other…you have each other’s parents phone numbers!
He’ll also have 4 different female co-stars to woo, including Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone…so going from wailing loverboy to loose playboy? Nice!

Any teenager or student knows that surviving on minimum sleep is part and parcel of our lives yet new actor’s haven’t read their acting handbook (I’m sure that exists, right?) and have to tell the whole world when they lose some sleep. Here comes Ranbir Kapoor to tell us about the traumatic and horrifying flights he had to endure.
Ranbir and Sonam Kapoor were both supposed to be in Mumbai on Saturday night for some event and Ranbir had to fly in from Amritsar where he was shooting for his newest movie, an untitled Siddharth Anand film. Since normal commercial flights aren’t for him, Sony chartered a private jet for him that got him as far as Delhi…but the winter months bring brilliant bouts of fog in the subcontinent and Ranbit was unable to carry on to Mumbai because of the fog. So Ranbir really couldn’t do much except fly back to Amritsar, landing at 4 a.m and continued shooting at 8 a.m Sunday morning.
Wow Ranbir, we really feel your pain. Isn’t this like the story about the toe-nail removal operation that the aunty next door tells you? Dull, long, pointless? You catch my drift.

When a director and actor have churned out two consecutive box-office hits (Salaam Namaste and Ta Ra Rum Pum) the they usually stick together (like Karan Johar and SRK). But director Siddharth Anand has decided to move away from his main man Saif Ali Khan and is filming his new film with Ranbir Kapoor.
Saif doesn’t have much to say except:
“I know Sid is doing a film with another actor. And I’m already missing him. But the consolation is that we’re both working for Aditya Chopra and Yashraj Films.
I’m about to start shooting for Yashraj’s Tashan with Akshay and Kareena, while Sid will start his film soon. So it’s like both of us being part of the same family. So maybe I won’t miss him that much.”
So Saif is a strong guy, he’ll survive without Siddharth for a while. Now I wanna watch Ta Ra Rum Pum again…so more updates later.
