Genelia plays for all sides

Posted by tigger in Genelia D'Souza, Ritesh Deshmukh

Genelia

And no, there wasn’t any double meaning in that title. Happy Monday SoggyChums and another week begins. Where did the weekend go?

Genelia D’Souza, before really coming into the spotlight in Janne Tu Ya Jaane Na (although she did do other Bollywood movies) has said that while she enjoys Bollywood, she won’t give up doing Southern films because that’s where she started her career.

She also wants to become a complete actress and says,

“I’m sure I’ll be able to dub in all the South Indian languages soon. I know I can do it. I just need to get the slangs and colloquialisms correct. Honestly I need to dub my own lines in the South to give complete performances.”

When asked about her relationship with Ritesh Deshmukh, she laughs them off as just rumours and insists that she and Ritesh have been friends since they first acted together but they still are only friends. Well, obviously that’s what they would be since Ritesh is rumoured to literally be playing for the other team…remember his reaction on ‘Sajid’s Superstars’?

But don’t worry Genelia fans, she’s still going to be acting in Bollywood as well.

Ritesh was accused of being gay? Really?

Posted by tigger in Abhishek Bachchan, Ritesh Deshmukh

Happy Friday all!

You know, for a Bollywood blogger, I’m sometimes so out of it. I never knew that Ritesh Deshmukh and Sajid Khan were said to be in a relationship, but apparently they were and Sajid recently joked about it with Ritesh on his talk show, but Ritesh wasn’t that amused.

Sajid invited good friend Ritesh onto his upcoming talk-show Sajid’s Superstars and apparently questioned him about his sexual orientation. Ritesh was annoyed at the question and replied,

“What sort of a question is that Sajid? First you call me for your chat show, and then ask me such stuff!”

Did you see how he avoided answering the question? Oooh, controversy. Anyways, Sajid and Ritesh are good friends, recently working on Heyy Babyy together and Sajid’s new talkshow will feature on some entertainment channel for an hour every Saturday, starting at the end of the month.

Sajid is not telling what happens next and says,

“Sometime back there was some media report saying that Ritiesh and I are gay. But there isn’t anything like that. In fact, he is like a brother to me.”

“You just have to wait and watch the show to know more about what would happen.”

Even though I didn’t hear about Ritesh and Sajid, I did hear a rumour about Ritesh and Abhishek…although I’m still trying to repress that one. Ugh.

Then don’t bother watching all the crap with cute animals on YouTube, De Taali released recently and according to Ritesh Deshmukh, it’s a clean, feel good film. It also stars Ayesha Takia and some other actors.

Unforgettable Tour kicks off in July

Posted by tigger in Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan, Lara Dutta, Ritesh Deshmukh

Bachchans

So why am I telling you now? I honestly don’t know.

Unless you live somewhere in Europe or North America, this doesn’t concern you. The group contains the Bachchans, Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya, with tag-alongs Ritesh Deshmukh and Lara Dutta.

Now you know this is just a huge publicity stunt for the Bachchans, showing off their “simple, happy family even though we’re so rich”. For those who wanna see them, it kicks off in Toronto and will continue for two months through Europe and America.

Yippee?

Ritesh does the Bhangra

Posted by tigger in Ritesh Deshmukh

Ritesh bhangra

Yesterday, Ritesh Deshmukh’s older brother Amit got married and to celebrate the loss of a sibling, Ritesh really tore up the floor. Well, he did the usual wedding Bhangra, which is cute anyways. The nice part? He was doing it on the street, no care to who looked or whatever. A nice change from the self-conscious Bollywood crowd.

Beauty and the Beast together again after 26 years

Posted by tigger in Amitabh Bachchan, Juhi Chawla, Rekha, Ritesh Deshmukh

And it’s up to you who you think is the beauty and who’s the beast. I’m talking about Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha, who have not appeared on-screen together in almost 3 decades.

Though there’s no official conformation to it, they two oldies may appear in Sujoy Ghosh’s Aladdin, also starring Ritesh Deshmukh and Juhi Chawla.

Obviously Ritesh will be Aladdin and Big B might be the genie. Rekha…well, since there’s no evil step-mother in Aladdin, we’ll assume that she’s going to be Aladdin’s mom.

While I don’t think that Bollywood can do ripped-off stories properly yet (they tend to ruin the magic of fairy tales and destroy the originality of English movies) but we’ll see how this goes.

If Rekha plays the princess, I’m starting a petition!

Ayesha Takia is an alien

Posted by tigger in Ayesha Takia, Ritesh Deshmukh

Ayesha

Like seriously, this isn’t a joke. Ayesha Takia really is an alien…or at least, she will be when she acts in her new movie. Hah! Gotcha! I know you believed me…I just know you did? You didn’t? Aw man, I gotta work on my lying some more.

Milap Zaveri is making a film called Jaane Kahaan Se Aiyee Hai (Goodness knows where she came from) where Ayesha Takia will be playing a girl from Venus who comes to Earth to kill and incubate our bodies for nutrition. Wait, that’s some other story. She’s coming to find love. How incredibly original.

“I wanted to make a love story but with a different subject. There will be a lot of humour and emotions that the young generation will be able to relate to.”

Ayesha will be sporting a a futuristic look for the film. “She will definitely have a futuristic and funky look. Coming from Venus, she has special powers and we intend to add some special effects as well,”

Ayesha’s leading man will be Ritesh Deshmukh and yeah, wait until May for it to come out. Bet it’s crap though.

Unforgettable tour or Bachchan world trip?

Posted by tigger in Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Hrithik Roshan, Jaya Bachchan, Lara Dutta, Ritesh Deshmukh

Unforgettable Bachchans

The next Unforgettable tour will involve Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan and maybe Jaya Bachchan as well. Oh, and Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta and Ritesh Deshmukh, but they’re not important. This is the latest in the publicity stunt that’s the Bachchan family.

This tour has been postponed since 2007, as it initially involved Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar, but both pulled out due to other commitments.

The main question is, is this Ash’s way of bowing out of Bollywood for a while, like her mother-in-law before her, to raise a family? Doesn’t really make a lot of sense though, since Ash refuses to get fat, homely and knocked up.

Oh wait, maybe she can’t get pregnant. Nice juicy piece of gossip that would be. Ok guys, spread the news. Aishwarya Rai is barren.

Ritesh is proud of ‘Cash’

Posted by tigger in Ajay Devgan, Diya Mirza, Esha Deol, Ritesh Deshmukh, Shamita Shetty, Sunil Shetty, Zayed Khan

Cash

Even though I’ve changed the title song to ‘Crap to the left of me, crap to the right of me…’ and you get the idea. I’m glad he’s proud of himself because that movie is somewhere down there on the unrealistic-and-disjointed-rubbish movie meter.

Ritesh Deshmukh loves Cash, even though it didn’t do much for his career, but he feels that he’s proved that he can do other roles besides comedy. He enjoyed shooting for the film so much that he lost track of how fast shooting went…and yet he never questioned where a F1 car appeared from.

“The kind of action that we got to see in ‘Cash’ was never seen before. Me, Ajay Devgan, Zayed Khan, Suniel Shetty, Shamita Shetty, Diya Mirza and Esha Deol had a whale of time. We didn’t even realize when the shooting got over,”

Did you know Ritesh was an architect? He even has a company…good back-up plan in case the acting career flops. He’s not really concentrating on that job just yet though, saying,

“I leave my architecture company’s running in the hands of a very efficient team while I focus on my acting,”

Yes, and I leave my unwritten novel in my head while I concentrate on blogging…
