And I don't mean she's just talking. Shilpa Shetty was recently at a charity auction in London where things like a date with the British Prime Minister were up for grabs but since not a lot of money was being bid, Shilpa walked onto the stage, took the mike and announced,
"Come on people - this is for charity. The winner will get a kiss from me...But it will be on the cheek. I don't want my effigies burnt again."
That would be in reference to the huge debacle of Richard Gere's kiss when they were both campaigning for AIDS awareness in India and people tried to arrest her for public indecency.
Anyways, the dinner date with Gordon Brown was eventually won with a bid of 12500 pounds and the guy who won got a few kisses from Shilpa, on the cheek.
By the way, do you know that someone paid 25 000 pounds to meet Amitabh Bachchan? Along with a walk-on role in some movie and a trip to India...but the point is, Amitabh Bachchan is worth more than the British PM!

Or something more witty.
A few months ago, the story of public indecency involved Richard Gere and Shilpa Shetty, this year, the story involves Neha Dhupia and another rich, white man. At
Channel [V]'s live Bollywood Premiere, Neha was dancing up a storm with Richard Branson on stage. You know who he is, right guys? The role model for all high-school dropouts? That guy who's company name makes you want to giggle because you think of something else? Yeah, that's him.
Now dancing isn't frowned upon, but the few pecks that Neha got from Richard and the little flashes that the photographers got when he twirled her around were serious no-no's. No criminal proceedings have been started...yet, but Neha is alright with the whole debacle.
"I have taken the whole incident in the right spirit and I don't think there was any harm caused to anyone. I would like to dance with him once again, but this time I will make sure that I am wearing trousers."
Some bloggers and websites insist that this is a show of disrespect to Indian women by the White guys. Indians...tut, tut, always playing the race card. Kidding, I wouldn't wanna offend my readers, some of you are really mean. But to suggest that these guys would not behave the same way with Hollywood actresses is a bit stupid. They would, but Hollywood actresses wouldn't be wearing these tacky short clothes that C-list actresses seem to prefer and thus, the option of flashing doesn't even open up.
Ohkay, and I think that's enough deep thought and analysis for today. After all, it's Friday!

Damn, this women is starting to annoy me. Seriously, it's always "Shilpa this", "Shilpa that" whenever I look for Bollywood news. It's like the rest of the Indian industry is completely out of it. What is wrong with you lot?! Go do something scandalous so I can write about it!
By the way, sorry for the crappy posts for the last few days. I'm buckling a little bit under work, expect a bit on instablity for the next month or so. I'm so sorry guys, but there will be updates everyday, no matter how bad they are.
So Shilpa Shetty talks about how sweet Richard Gere was to her after THE KISS incident. She says he called her everyday to see how she was doing, despite her own embarassment that her countrymen were acting like such dodo's...well, some of them anyways.
Also, closer to the West, SHilpa Shetty attended the premier of her new movie
Life in a Metro, where her
Big Brother co-stars had also been invited, even the one's who racially abused. Apparently, Danielle Lloyd was even in attendance and it looks like she and Shilpa made up...too bad her life sucks anyways. Danielle's, not Shilpa's I mean.

Looks like Shilpa is riding the fame train and everything is helping her out, no matter how bad it seems. From suffering racial abuse on
Celebrity Big Brother to meeting the Queen to being dipped and kissed by Richard Gere in front of Indian truck drivers, Shilpa's fame seems to be growing and growing, despite being a bit unpopular in India.
Shilpa has been voted No 38 is
FHM's "Most Eligible Women in the World 2007" list, making her one of the few Indian women to appear on the list.
Speaking about kissing on screen during a recent visit to Australia, she told Sydney Morning Herald, "I have never kissed on screen…I don't want to do it but it is a personal choice; it is not because of a rule or law…"
Shilpa also said the hullabaloo was from a 'lunatic minority' and it does not reflect the sentiments of most Indians.
"The reactions to the Gere kiss — including a warrant for her arrest — were those of a lunatic minority. These are not the sentiments of the majority of people and it saddens me that this is how the West will perceive India," she told the audience.
As much as Shetty promotes a modern India, she admits audiences are not ready to embrace the love scenes of Hollywood or Europe. "It is better to have a clean entertainment movie because those work better at the box office."
Talking about the British reality show which catapulted her to fame, she told The Sydney Morning Herald that "because of Big Brother, there are all these people in the West who know me, but have never seen my work."
Yeah, so that's Shilpa's story...I'll tell you my story later, it's much cooler than Shilpa's...there's a talking monkey in it.

Wow, Indian's are sensitive...I wouldn't wanna get on the wrong side of them, which is basically what everyone else is doing. First they were burning Shilpa and Richard, now they have moved on to a lesser-known and liked actress Rakhi Sawant.
Some groups have burned pictures of the D-list actress after pictures emerged of her sitting in a bathtub with a statue of Lord Buddha behind her. Yeah, that is so not OK...Rakhi, get a life. It's like she can't get any attention so she thinks that any attention, even negative, might do something for her career. You never had a career girl. People hate you so much that you couldn't even find someone to go on
Koffee with Karan with you. Ok, that's it, rant over.

Back to the bad, bad impressions that Indian's are giving of themselves, they can't seem to get over small, stupid incidences and seem to have the desire to draw them out for as long as possible, leading me to bang my hand against my monitor...and now I'm in a lot of pain because Indian's can't get over themselves.
An Indian court warranted the arrest of Shilpa Shetty and Richard Gere, after finding them guilty of obscenity because Gere kissed Shilpa a few times on the cheek. If that's obscenity, then half the Indian actors out there should be in jail...dumbasses. Stop showing double-standards when there's people out there who want to help you, because when you really want help, no-one will come. It doesn't take a genius to work that out...or maybe it does...I have an IQ of 149...seriously.
But Richard Gere (who has now left the country) apologises thus:
"What is most important to me is that my intentions as an HIV/AIDS advocate be made clear, and that my friends in India understand that it has never been, nor could it ever be, my intention to offend you,"
So, are you all happy? You got your stupid apology, now move on!
