Annoying stupid filmmakers.

I was looking forward to the New Year because Paathshala was due out in the second week of January 2009, but the producers have decided that since the movie is supposed to be really good, Big Pictures has decided that there should be huge publicity for the movie and one month isn’t enough to do it, so the release of Paathshala has been postponed to end of March/early April. Booo!

Oh, and in case someone wasn’t 100% sure what the movie is about, a synopsis about the movie says,

‘Saraswati Vidya Mandir’ is a school past its prime and now faces competition from several others that provide a more holistic system of education in tune with international standards. The Principal (Nana Patekar), a man rooted to the cause of making his school the best in the country, is faced with dire circumstances in the wake of the Board of Trustees threatening to close down the school due to lack of adequate financial resources. The Film is about the drama which unfolds in this backdrop and showcases how school children, teachers, staff and the Principal through their collaborative efforts bring about a change in the destiny of Saraswati Vidya Mandir. Shahid Kapur plays a dynamic, young professor whose sole concern is the well being and all round development of the students at ‘Saraswati Vidya Mandir’.

So to provide an international standard school the teachers start beating up the kids? Interesting…

Hey guys. Since it is Friday, it’s obviously time for Shahid. For those of you who don’t read the comments, I really am sorry for the lack of a Shahid Kapoor post last Friday, but hopefully this bumper one will make up for it, since there’s a decent amount of Shahid news doing the rounds.

First story, Sania Mirza has supposedly dumped Shahid for Telugu actor Navdeep Pallapolu. Honestly, I think this story is pointless because I don’t think Shahid and Sania were dating in the first place. After Shahid and Kareena broke up, he just needed a friend and found Sania. Shahid doesn’t seem like the guy that needs a rebound chick to prove that he’s still got it, or maybe it’s just me who sees no wrong in him.

Second story, for those of you who scour the web for Shahid news, like I do, then you should know that Shahid’s new movie Paathshala is coming out in January 2009. I’m not even 100% sure if Shahid’s role is that of the protagonist since I read ages and ages ago that his role was meant to be a special appearance but I think they may have expanded it considering Shahid’s new star status. Shahid plays an encouraging teacher in the movie and Ayesha Takia will be playing his lady love. Nana Patekar plays a negative role, as the school principal.

Third Story, the trailer of the movie was released with Karzzz, so here you go, enjoy! I’m sure you guys are tired of me saying this, but oh my word he looks cute! I’m still not sure about the story line but it looks a bit like a mix of Taare Zameen Par and Mohabbatein, and since I loved both those movies, I don’t see why this one won’t be awesome as well.

For the dialogue trailer, here’s the YouTube link. It doesn’t look as cheerful as the first one…Hey, though is it just me or the second bit of dialogue that Shahid spoke in this trailer was dubbed with someone else’s voice? I can’t wait for the 9th of January, when the movie is set to be released!

It’s Friday again (the week goes by so fast!) and it’s freezing here. Anyways, a story to warm you girls up…about Shahid! Yay!

Ok, so I’m having a hard time finding a Shahid Kapoor story for this week, so let’s talk about his new movie. There’s Shahid up there, on the sets of Paathshala…I have no idea what it means.

The movie is set in a school campus setting (I love those movies, dunno why) and stars Shahid and Ayesha Takia. The producer of the film is Ahmed Khan, who says,

“Paathshala revolves around kids and is set in the school campus. It has actors like Shahid Kapur, Nana Patekar, Ayesha Takia in essential characters. The film has child artists like Swini Khare (Cheeni Kum), Ali Haji (Partner) and Dwij Yadav (Nanhe Jaisalmer) in pivotal roles.” informs Ahmed Khan.

“Shahid is not doing a cameo, it is a character role. He plays a teacher who teaches English and Music. Nana Patekar is playing the role of the Principal, and Ayesha Takia is a teacher who looks into the extra curricular activities. Besides them, there is Sushant Singh and Saurabh Shukla in the film as well,”

And the movie is now in post-production stages, and I guess we’ll be seeing a few promos soon, if they aren’t already out. Ok, I couldn’t find any on YouTube, but when they do come out, I’ll get back to you guys.
