Today’s news seems to involve the Khans…weird.
Anyways, this new story has confused me, but I’m assuming it’s just a bored journalist who couldn’t find a decent story, so decided that making co-stars hook up would make for some good tabloid fodder.
As far as I know, Imran Khan was supposed to be dating Avantika Malik but now some idiot journo has linked him up with his Kidnap co-star Minissha Lamba. Now while there may be some chemistry between co-stars, about 98% of these link-ups are usually crap. So I’m going to ignore this story, even though I’m writing about it.
A source says,
“Imran Khan was driving his much talked about white BMW around with Minissha on Sunday night. Both looked very happy and appeared to be enjoying a great conversation. He would say something and that would send her into a laughing fit. Finally, after a couple of rounds on Carter Road, Imran headed to Olive restaurant and bar to have a quiet dinner with Minissha in the front seat”
In the car? That doesn’t sound very romantic. Anyways, whatever the source has said strikes me as anything that isn’t platonic. Just because a girl laughs at a guys joke doesn’t mean she’s in love with him…we just like him enough to make him feel good about himself by laughing at his corny jokes. Fact.
Now I’m out…see you tomorrow.

It makes sense that co-stars would become friends on the sets of a film but apparently Imran Khan and Minissha Lamba have become awfully good friends that Kidnap director Sanjay Gandhvi has a hard time separating them when it comes to scenes.
Apparently, Minissha and Imran joke and talk between scenes, which is great for their chemistry but makes it hard to shoot serious scenes where Minissha’s character is supposed to be angry at Imran’s. Sometimes Sanjay tells them to stay away from each other just to achieve the right feel to the scene.
Imran is taking his new bad boy avatar a bit too seriously though and while shooting for Kidnap, insisted that he be allowed to do his own stunts, one which consisted of jumping from a 20-story building. While Sanjay wanted to use a stunt double, Imran convinced him not to and was getting ready for the scene.
However, the other Sanjay on set, Sanjay Dutt, decided enough was enough and called Aamir to tell him what exactly his nephew was doing. Needless to say, Aamir soon called Imran and convinced that he was still too young to do a stunt like that.
Old people…they always ruin the fun.

Minissha Lamba, after playing the traditional girl in Bachna Ae Haseeno, has decided that wearing a bikini in Kidnap would be a good career move at this stage, since it worked so well for the girls in Dhoom and Dhoom 2 (Did I ever tell you that Ash’s character was the most annoying character in the history of annoying avatars in D2? It might have had something to do with the fact that she was a 30 year old woman pretending to be 20).
Minissha says,
“When Sanjay Gadhvi came to me with the film, he was clear about one thing - he wanted to completely change my look and make me go through a transition. He asked me whether I was game for it but honestly, I didn’t have any reason not to be a part of it.”
“We all know what he has done to his ladies in ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Dhoom 2′. All his actresses have looked fabulous on screen whenever they have gone through an image transformation. He is fantastic at that and for me, it was just a matter of putting myself into the grind and completely focus on the change. It was a matter of going through the perception shift.”
So to get in a bikini and look good, she had to stop eating and start working out. If only we could all follow her example…except it’s just way more fun to eat those Fudge brownies I made today. Anyone want?

Quick last post because I have things to do. Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Manissha Lamba recently appeared on 10 Ka Dum with Salman Khan. They also showed a few dance moves from Bachna Ae Haseeno…you know, I’m tired of the songs even before the movie came out.
Salman has been a pretty good host on the show, presenting prizes to the audience and occasionally helping a needy spectator, but he’s also quite nice to his guest stars. This time, he handed over a painting of Raj Kapoor to Ranbir. The painting wasn’t that bad, considering Salman did it.
Oh well…the Kapoors live on. Good night all.

Bachna Ae Haseeno is almost out and while Yash Raj are praying fervently that it’s a hit, Ranbir Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone and Manissha Lamba are doing the rounds to drum up publicity.
One story reports that Bips is stating her authority as the most senior of the actresses and has insisted that during a recent show, she should be the first one to enter on the arm of Ranbir rather than his real-life girlfriend Deepika. Deeps was supposedly not impressed by this demand and even less so when the organisers bowed to Bipasha’s wishes.
I guess Bips really wants this movie and her jodi to work, since she’s spoken out against the industry that has termed her as the old one in the movie.
“I may not be 20 anymore but that doesn’t mean I look very old and exhausted with wrinkles on my face. I am requesting people to drop assumptions about women who reach 30. When 40 plus heroes are paired opposite much younger heroines then no one talks about it but when I am romantically paired with heroes who are just 2-3 years younger than me, a big deal is being made out of it? It is really unfortunate.”
I’m not giving my opinion here. But honestly, I think BAH is going to flop…let’s see if my prediction works out.

For all those who liked seeing Rishi Kapoor in those tight, sparkly white clothes, you might get a whiff of the past as Rishi joins son Ranbir Kapoor in his second movie Bachna Ae Haseeno in a updated version of the song of the same name.
There’s a lot of maybes in this report however since director Siddharth Anand still hasn’t asked Rishi to take part in the song. There was no guarantee that we’d even see that song unless it lived up to Siddharth’s expectations…it did, now he just has to shoot the video, which obviously includes Ranbir, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu and Manissha Lamba.
Sid says,
“Though I’m too scared to ask him as yet,”
“The only time Yashraj have done separate music videos for their films is for Dhoom. It’s the project that determines the promotion. I think we had a great title song and it was waiting to be used as a music video.”
While Siddharth is looking forward to the release of the movie, he doesn’t want to give anyone any expectations, except that Ranbir that is a very good actor. He’s just going to keep it a light romcom film…well, you can never really go wrong with those…
