Paresh makes corny jokes about Mallika

Posted by tigger in Mallika Sherawat, Paresh Rawal

I like Paresh Rawal, he’s funny. He recently spoke about his new movie and his comments about Mallika Sherawat on the sets of Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam.

His new movie will be Paresh’s first international film entitled The Virgin Goat where Paresh plays the role of a farmer who’s taking his goat, which is in heat, to find a mate. I don’t know how big his role is but apparently, that’s all his character is interested is.

Paresh was heard saying on the sets of Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam that Mallika was the sole reason for global warming. Does that mean he sees her as the variations in earth’s orbit around the Sun, changes in solar luminosity, volcanic eruptions, and atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations? Kidding, he’s just using a really bad pick up line to say that she’s hot.

“Ha, I did say that. I don’t deny it. But only as a joke. I’m constantly passing quips on the sets. And this was one of them. Little did I know that it would be the talk of the town. I’ve just landed in Mumbai and everyone is asking me about it.”

Wow, that really must have been a slow news day!

Mallika is nice…

Posted by tigger in Mallika Sherawat, Rahul Bose

Being part of the Maan Gaye Mughall-E-Azam cast already has it’s advantages. The movie is in post-production, but Mallika Sherawat is already throwing a party.

When the shooting of the movie was completed, the Pyaar ke Side Effects star, very sweetly, threw a party for the entire crew and cast, that included Rahul Bose and Paresh Rawal. Mallika thought it was the best way to thank everyone for their hard work and personally invited everyone to the party.

Producer Ratan Jain liked the gesture a lot and is full of praise for Mallika,

“It was a surprise that we will never forget!

Mallika’s party made everybody’s day. She made it a point to invite each and everybody and that was very kind of her. It was an unforgettable evening for all of us.”

And fans of the Mallika-Rahul ‘jodi’ will be happy to see them together again.

Mallika is in trouble

Posted by tigger in Mallika Sherawat

Mallika Sherawat was doing a pretty good job of staying out of the tabloids recently but now she’s back and people are pissed off at her. Well, a few people.

She was spotted wearing an ‘indecent’ dress at the Dasavatharam audio launch at Nehru Indoor Stadium on April 25th. Tamil Nadu’s moral police, the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) have spoken out against her, saying that she has no fashion sense…oh wait, they’re problem is with the length of her skirt.

One of their activists filed the claim that she,

“caused mental agony and hurt to the sentiments of the people of Tamil Nadu by wearing a revealing mini skirt, exposing her back and sitting cross legged in front of the Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.”

Apparently her clothes make people’s eyes burn out or something, the way this dude is going on. My view on this stuff is that people should be allowed to do whatever they want. In the end, we’re all answerable to God. True, there should be some levels of decency in the general public but this guy is just complaining for the sake of complaining…one of those people who’s lives revolve around finding fault in others. I do that too, but only through this blog and because I’m somewhat funny, that makes it OK. Now if the activist had said something like “I don’t like the feeling that Mallika makes me feel and I declare her a public hazard.” then maybe someone would listen.

Mallika doesn’t get along with some people

Posted by tigger in Mallika Sherawat

Mallika

That happens to all of us but I’m lost for a good headline here.

Guess what? Monday isn’t getting better. They should really make Monday part of the weekend. Then there would be less Monday Morning Blues and less ax-murderers. And you would get posts that aren’t so b****y and snipy. Until then…well, I’ll just be me.

Studio 18 was planning to make Masquerade with Mallika Sherawat but unfortunately, the project has been called off because Mallika couldn’t get along with director Kundan Shah.

Studio 18 was really banking on her, having offered her 9.5 million ruppees for the role and having paid her 25% of the amount the day she pitched up on the set (I need a job like that). The movie was screwed when Mallika insisted that she wanted a cinematographer of her choice but Kundan Shah insisted that he would be the one to choose the cinematographer. Both wouldn’t move from their views and the movie had to be shelved.

Mallika is keeping the 25% (I really need a job like that) and has refused to talk to Studio 18 again. I guess she can do that, since she did sign the contract…

Studios and directors have to learn, there should be special sections in contracts where stars can put down their demands and only then should it be signed, when all parties are in agreement.

C’mon, if a Bollywood blogger can work that out, why can’t they?

Rahul and Mallika: A fun new movie

Posted by tigger in Hrithik Roshan, Mallika Sherawat, Rahul Bose

Rahul and Mallika

For all those who loved Pyaar Ke Side Effects, guess what? Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat are back with a new film, due out…I don’t know when exactly. It’s called Maan Gaye Mugal-e-Azam (The King has accepted).

But the story revolves around a theater group that performs different plays, one of them being the love story of Salim and Anarkali. I’m assuming that Rahul and Mallika play those parts. Though I don’t know how happy this movie is going to be, since the story of Anarkali and Salim doesn’t end well. She’s supposedly buried in a well by Emperor Akbar (yup, that same guy played by Hrithik Roshan in Jhoda-Akbar) because she was a dancing girl and his son Salim shouldn’t marry below his rank. On the other hand, it looks like the King will be OK with it this time around.

But enough with the Romeo-Juliet crap, Rahul is excited by the film and says,

“Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam’ is a spoofy and black comedy. If we look for a genre it’d have to be the ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron’ kind of cinema,”

And on being back with Mallika,

“She’s just not the person she’s made out to be. I’m happy that both the films she has done with me… ‘Pyar Ke Side Effects’ and ‘…Mughal-e-Azam’ take Mallika very far away from her image. It’s also my first full-on masala film and I had a blast.”

Can’t wait for it to come out…might take a while though, so don’t hold your breath.

Oh, and by the way, 1 of today’s 4 post is an April Fool’s joke. Take your pick :-D.

Rahul tells us that there’s no “Shaadi ke Side Effects”

Posted by tigger in Aamir Khan, Dilip Kumar, Juhi Chawla, Mallika Sherawat, Rahul Bose

Mallika and Rahul

A recent Q & A with Rahul Bose asked questions about his new film, whether there were any sequels planned for some films and how he feels about his co-stars.

Q.: Please tell us about your character in the film “Shaurya”.
A.: In this film, I portray an army lawyer who gets irritated all he time, as he does not have many cases.

The lawyer gets a case at last, which is quite complicated, and realizes that he might eventually lose his life if he continues to work on the case. The story will move on as the lawyer, played by me, goes ahead with the case and fights it.

Q.: According to you, what’s the meaning of “Shaurya”?
A.: I think “Shaurya” means whatever you do, do it with complete confidence and dedication.

Q.: Minisha Lamba stars opposite you in the film, so can you talk about your chemistry on screen with her?
A.: I mix well with all my co-stars.

Even if I hate someone, my acting and perfect sense of chemistry does not let others notice this. I think building proper chemistry in front of the camera is quite easy, as they all are made or created.

All that we show and do at the set are just forced and made. You also follow the same route as you are supposed to work as a part of a team.

Just a little aside…what happened to being humble? He sounds like Shah Rukh Khan!

Q.: But still, there are some pairs whose chemistry creates magic on screen, isn’t it?
A.: It’s very rare. I don’t think you should have to be friends to get that chemistry on screen. Take for example, I and Perizad are very good friends, but that chemistry doesn’t show up on screen.

On the contrary, there are Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla as well as Dilip Kumar and Vaijayanti Mala who never liked each other, but their onscreen chemistry was mind boggling.

People say, I look better with Mallika on screen, but in reality, we are absolutely different from each other.

Q.: Is it true that the sequel of “Pyar Ke Side Effects” will be made soon?
A.: No.

Q.: Who is your inspiration behind your work for social causes?
A.: I don’t know. I know only one thing that whenever I see something illegal happening, I get really angry. The racism that came to show up recently due to an incident in Mumbai has really made me ashamed as a citizen of this city.

There’s no feeling of differentiation amongst us, but when few people raised their voice, we felt afraid. Here we can easily understand that there’s no unity amongst us.

Sorry fans who really wanted the sequel, and believed my old post about it but I really did think it was going to happen. Though sequels, as a general rule, suck, so maybe we should just leave the fantasy beautifully played out in our minds?

Mallika is good…yet people want her to be bad

Posted by tigger in Katrina Kaif, Mallika Sherawat

Mallika Sherawat fans, good news. Not only is she shooting a new movie…she’s also nice! Recently while shooting in Goa for Ugly aur Pagli (Ugly and Mischevious/Crazy…sounds like fairy tales for the insane) the crowd was so happy to see her, excitement was rife and because they needed some quiet time to shoot, Mallika flattered the crowd into shutting up…how sweet.

Mallika’s “fans” may be a bunch of pervs though…while some people enjoy her non-skinshow performances and see the actress underneath, others also care about what’s underneath…except it’s not what’s under her skin that they’re interested in. How charming.

Possibly that’s why very few of her non-flashing roles have met with box office success, compared to earlier movies like Murder. But you’ll be seeing Mallika with Katrina Kaif in their new movie Welcome, which should be a welcome reprieve for any real fan.

Wow, that pun was really corny. Now I’m off to watch The Suite Life of Zack and Cody…I mean, MTV…yeah, that’s totally what I’m watching. Cheers all, until tomorrow.

No ‘Shaadi ke Side Effects’?

Posted by tigger in Mallika Sherawat, Rahul Bose

PKSE

Or at least not with the original stars. The 2006 movie Pyaar ke Side Effects was a hit with the crowd looking for a mostly realistic and humourous impression of the modern relationship. They found it in the unlikely duo of Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose.

Now with the idea of a sequel on the board, Mallika and Rahul may not agree to team up for this one. Director Saket Chaudhary is looking to direct the sequel, naming the film Shaadi ke Side Effects, examining the not often examined side of what happens after happily ever after.

Saket talks about the project but can’t promise to get us back the stars of the previous movie, insisting that scripts count more and even star actors can be replaced,

“I have narrowed down on an idea. The story takes off a few years later, post marriage,”

“See, I am not writing the film keeping them in mind. Whether they feature in the film or not will be decided later. They are well aware of the second installment, but everything boils down to the script,”

Even the producers want the new film made and don’t care if they get the original actors there or not.

“Yes a sequel to Pyar Ke Side Effects is definitely in the pipeline. And if Rahul or anyone else from the cast and crew doesn’t want to do the sequel, no problem. We’ll replace whoever isn’t interested.

I want Rahul and Mallika to encore their roles. But if they don’t I can easily do it without them. I’ve repeatedly said actors and directors don’t make a difference.”

But it’s too weird to see new actors fill in for their previous protagonists, have you seen Home Alone 4? Bet you didn’t even know it existed. The point is that you can’t have different people play the same character, the movie would already be at a disadvantage if the director tried that. So please bring back the kissy-couple!

Rahul Bose almost died!

Posted by tigger in Mallika Sherawat, Rahul Bose

rahul bose

Except he didn’t, so you can all breathe easily. I never really understood why actors and actresses are fascinated with the idea of doing their own stunts. You have a stunt-double…use them! But some actors insist on doing their own stunts, whether it’s for the authenticity of the shot or just for the adrenalin rush. Rahul Bose is one of these actors, who had a mishap last week while doing a stunt.

“I had to do bungee jumping for Samar Khan’s ‘Shourya’. It is my character’s introductory scene. And I had never done bungee jumping in my life. I’m very sporty and have done a lot of adventure sports and I didn’t mind trying it out.

“These guys were from a Bangalore-based company called AWA Stunt Crew. They confidently told me that in the 12,000 jumps they’ve orchestrated so far, nothing has gone wrong.”

“They took me a hundred feet off the ground by crane. After two practice jumps they took me up in a cage and told me to be calm and breathe deeply.”

“I’m facing the camera which is on top of me. Then I fall backwards facing the camera in a swan-like swoop. A second camera had been set up to trace the arch of my fall. I leap off, and one foot down… I’m stuck! I look down frozen in descent and I see this yawning chasm.”

“Later I got to know I was 499 feet above ground level. Then I hear the guy above me say, ‘Oh shit, the harness has got stuck on the camera. Do you want me to let you go or pull you up? Suspended in mid-air I wonder what letting go means! I thought, ‘My family can’t have two deaths in one week.’ ”

“They pull me up. And I decide I won’t try the stunt again, at least not with those Bangalore experts who claim to have done 12,000 smooth bungee jumps. I realized later that those guys were completely freaked out by what happened to me. I declined to do the stunt again and returned to Mumbai. If something had given way, what then?”

Wow, talk about bad publicity. Guys, did you get that? AWA Stunt Crew…they will kill you, don’t use them for any of your bungee-jumping needs. But we’re all very glad that Rahul’s ok, because then how would we get another dose of him and Mallika Sherawat? I mean, the poor guy lost his dad recently…imagine how his family would feel if something had happened to him. To quote Brooke Shields “When you die, you lose a very important part of your life.”

Mallika vs Tabu

Posted by tigger in Mallika Sherawat, Rahul Bose, Tabu

Jackie Chan Mallika Sherawat

Since I have readers who like Mallika Sherawat and since I like the readers, I won’t go on my sad insulting spree again. Tabu and Mallika have never acted together (as far as I know) but directors are now preferring the screen-siren over more demure Tabussam (Yup, that’s her real name).

The writer of Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam, Cheel, says:

“I’m a writer. So I know exactly how to place an actor into a character. Yes, Tabu was to do the role. But the way I look at it now, the role is perfect for Mallika. If Naseeruddin Shah had done ‘Black’ wouldn’t it have been different from the way Amitabh Bachchan played the character?”

Um, good point I guess. After the success of Pyar Ke Side Effects, directors are hoping that Mallika and Rahul Bose can light up the screen again. Mallika won’t be cast as her usual sex-bomb character either. Should be fun to see if she can pull this off.
