Today's posts seem to be about pain. First Zayed Khan got hurt during a shoot, now reports have said that Mallika Sherawat almost drowned during a recent beach shooting.
For the scene, the actress was required to stand in water and play some instrument, which was working out perfectly until high tide came in and currents pulled Mallika deeper into the sea. Supposedly Mallika is a good swimmer but she started drowning and the crew on the beach dove in to save her.
Once it was made sure that Mallika was OK, the shoot continued. So there's not much of a story there either.
Most people are looking forward to Maan Gaya Mughal-e-Azam especially for the Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose pairing, last seen in Pyaar Ke Side Effects. Fans will be pleased to hear that there's quite a few lip-locks and even a bath scene where Mallika's character and Rahul's character decide to moisturise each other's hair. Well, I'm assuming that the reason why. What other reasons would there be to take a bath together?
Actually, don't answer that.
Apparently in the song 'Marmari Behen', Rahul and Mallika jump into a petal filled bath together and according to reports from the set, Rahul enjoyed himself the most in the scented bath scene.
Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat make an interesting couple, and while fans of the jodi are looking forward to Maan Gaya Mughal-e-Azam, they wonder if they can recapture the chemistry from Pyaar Ke Side Effects. Even if they can't, they'll have almost as many kisses as last time they were together, according to Rahul.
"I've four kissing scenes with Mallika this time. Every time my director Sanjay Chhel was frustrated by my lack of talent he asked me to kiss Mallika."
"It's not as though we volunteered to kiss. It was part of the story. Mallika isn't the only co-star I've kissed. I kissed Laila Rouass in Split Wide Open, Perizaad Zorabian in Mumbai Matinee.
And in Govind Nihalani's Takshak I kissed Nethra Raghuraman. Lately I've kissed Saba Azad in Dil Kabaddi. So my kisses spread far and wide. Did I kiss Rinki Khanna in Jhankar Beats? I can't remember."
Um, no he didn't. I like the comment about the lack of talent and kissing. Rahul also says that he's not a fan of on-screen kisses, despite the many that he does, and he doesn't want a reputation like Emraan Hashmi, who seems to kiss for the sake of kissing.
Hmmm, it might not be the best idea to cross Mallika Sherawat because it sounds like she really knows how to make people pay. Apparently, she and Himesh Reshammiya met on the sets of 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge', where Himesh tried to undermine the actress.
A source reports,
“None of the mentors – Himesh Reshammiya, Pritam, Shankar and Aadesh Srivastava – wanted to sit with Mallika. They couldn’t ask her to sit next to Asha Bhosle who is the mahaguru in the show.
Eventually, they had to make the feisty actress sit with the participants. While all the mentors chose to behave formally with her, Himesh Reshammiya passed a lot of comments against the actress.”
I don't know why, but Himesh always annoyed me. Mallika didn't like Himesh's comments and soon went up to the actor/singer and asked "Do you want me to expose you in front of all these people?" Interesting...what is Himesh hiding from the rest of the world? Supposedly, Himesh became very quiet but then tried to stop one of the contestants from singing a Mallika Sherawat song 'Bheege Hont Tere'...Himesh was duly ignored when Sukhvinder went ahead and dedicated the song to Mallika anyways.
Seriously, what's the big secret? I hate being left out of the loop!
Sounds kinda like a superhero...and I guess Naagin is a bit of a superhero...at least, she has some kinds of powers.
Ok, I'm going off the topic here. The movie Naagin - The Snake Woman will be starring Mallika Sherawat and Irrfan Khan, and will be directed by Jennifer Lynch. This will make her the first Hollywood director to direct a Hindi film in Bollywood.
The producer of the film, Ratan Jain says,
"Venus is known for its commercial family entertainers. There is lot of work happening between Hollywood and Bollywood and the film with Jennifer starring Mallika is a step towards it,"
"It was a wonderful experience working with Mallika in 'Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam'. And hence it was natural that we take it further. She is a thorough professional. And I hope that with this film, Venus will be associated with more international films in the near future."
And they got a whole bunch of Hollywood crew in as well, but as we know, good special effects doesn't mean it'll be a good movie.
Is a good sign when you decide that now you're just one name? Is it a good sign to change your name?
We know of a few actors who prefer names contrary to the ones they were named with, like Salman Khan (Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan) and Mallika Sherawat (Reema Lamba, thanks to Locustwillow for that information byte), but other actors are trying out a new thing. Just having one name.
Amisha Patel now wants to be known as Ameesha, just Ameesha. No one is exactly sure why she wants to do it with Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic director Kunal Kohli just saying that Amisha Ameesha, just wanted to be credited with one name and he didn't have a problem with that. Some people feel that it may have something to do with Numerology, you know, the idea that numbers, letters and their placement will make your movie a hit or your acting less terrible...
Anyways, so Ameesha is now joins the ranks of Madonna, Cher, Pink, Jewel...Satan.
Just wanted to put in a quick post before I took a break...be back soon to update more for today. Ugly aur Pagli stars Mallika Sherawat and Ranvir Shorey. The trailer is basically a slap-fest, which makes me laugh...does that mean I have some kind of sadistic tendencies? :-0
I like Paresh Rawal, he's funny. He recently spoke about his new movie and his comments about Mallika Sherawat on the sets of Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam.
His new movie will be Paresh's first international film entitled The Virgin Goat where Paresh plays the role of a farmer who's taking his goat, which is in heat, to find a mate. I don't know how big his role is but apparently, that's all his character is interested is.
Paresh was heard saying on the sets of Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam that Mallika was the sole reason for global warming. Does that mean he sees her as the variations in earth's orbit around the Sun, changes in solar luminosity, volcanic eruptions, and atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations? Kidding, he's just using a really bad pick up line to say that she's hot.
"Ha, I did say that. I don't deny it. But only as a joke. I'm constantly passing quips on the sets. And this was one of them. Little did I know that it would be the talk of the town. I've just landed in Mumbai and everyone is asking me about it."
Being part of the Maan Gaye Mughall-E-Azam cast already has it's advantages. The movie is in post-production, but Mallika Sherawat is already throwing a party.
When the shooting of the movie was completed, the Pyaar ke Side Effects star, very sweetly, threw a party for the entire crew and cast, that included Rahul Bose and Paresh Rawal. Mallika thought it was the best way to thank everyone for their hard work and personally invited everyone to the party.
Producer Ratan Jain liked the gesture a lot and is full of praise for Mallika,
"It was a surprise that we will never forget!
Mallika's party made everybody's day. She made it a point to invite each and everybody and that was very kind of her. It was an unforgettable evening for all of us."
And fans of the Mallika-Rahul 'jodi' will be happy to see them together again.
