We've all kinda gotten use to Bebo-Saif's fights but this is the first time that a marital dispute has been reported between Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. Strangely enough, this fight also took place during the IIFA weekend but it took them so long to report it.
The story is that Ash is kind-of a loudmouth and this got on Abhi's nerves while he was with her. Even though he told her to calm down and speak more lowly, she ignored him and continued to squawk and squeal.
When the left the festivities and returned to their hotel, it was there that Abhishek supposedly confronted her about her need to draw attention to herself (touchy) and they hashed it out in the middle of the foyer and eventually Abhi asked security guards to escort Ash
out of the building back to her room. And no one says when he returned there himself.
Oh well, I lost my bet that they would break up within a year a while ago...maybe they're in it for the long term and we can tell our kids about them as my parents talk about Amitabh and Jaya.
I think.
The cold war between the Bachchan and Kapoors has been ongoing ever since the engagement between Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor was called off. I still don't know why that happened but since the two have moved on to greener pastures, it seems like they're not gonna act like 5-year-olds anymore.
Since
Sarkar Raj premiered at IIFA, no one expected the Kapoors to attend, but Jaya Bachchan played the gracious hostess when Randhir and Rajeev Kapoor walked the red carpet and welcomes them warmly, since SR was a Bachchan family affair, containing Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan.
So we can all come out now? No foodfight?

Welcome and it's Friday again...yay! This week, you got a very good idea of what happens when you don't get work done in time and spend 3 days trying to do the stuff that you had 2 weeks to do previously, but you decided to fritter those 2 weeks away in mindless pursuits, that frankly rocks but are not conducive of your academic career. What happens then is that you neglect your blog and you don't get to make fun of celebrities and the bitterness just eats you away inside. So my main point is, SoggyCornflakes is good for the health!
In today's story, I'd like to debate affirmative action and the affect it has on the European Union. Oh wait, wrong blog. Just kidding, like I would ever have a blog on something as boring as that...even though I have to study that crap on campus...sob...anyways, back to the actual story.
It looks like Aishwarya Rai has a new friend! That shocks me since I was under the impression that she spent her days calorie-counting for Abhishek, but apparently she doesn't and looked incredibly chummy with Eva Longoria of
Desperate Housewives fame at the Cannes Film Festival.
Eva and Ash are both brand ambassadors for L'Oreal Paris (who's sponsoring the event for the 11th year) and I guess that's why they were hanging out at the event. But they still looked pretty friendly, laughing and giggling away with no sign of Abhishek around (though he is supposed to be around somewhere in Paris with his mom).
While she looked better on the second day, Ash looked slightly alien-y for the opening ceremony (pic above) though a male friend declared he would "still do her". Ah, aren't the Y-chromosome species just so sensitive?

Well, I guess it had to happen eventually. The blogging bug has bitten
Amitabh Bachchan and he's trying to get the rest of the family involved as well.
In an email interview with
Times of India (very convenient, since he has time to think of the answers) Amitabh stated that his website would soon expand with the addition of 4 family members who will also use the website as a tool to converse with fans. When asked if he would soon lose interest in the site, he said,
"These are early days. I want to be able to have sufficient material everyday to remit. Shortly our website shall be operative and four other prominent members of the family will be a part of it. Naturally there will be the obvious dilution in interest. I shall wait and see."
So that's
Jaya Bachchan,
Abhishek Bachchan and
Aishwarya Rai...who's the fourth? Could it be daughter Shweta, who spends as much time out of the limelight as the rest of the Bachchan's spend in it?
Oh well, I guess only time will tell...wow, could I have used a bigger cliche?
Sorry about the delayed posting and whatnot...I finally worked out again how to put pics up here (yay) and SoggyCornflakes should be back to it's usual self soon...with a new theme as soon as I'm done with work this week.

It can't be easy turning 60. When you were 40, you insisted to yourself that you were middle-aged. At 50, you probably considered yourself at your prime. But what excuse can you make at 60? Nothing, except bring out the reading glasses and try to console yourself that by not eating cheese and meat, you really are healthier.
I wonder what Jaya Bachchan is thinking as her 60th birthday draws closer? Is she wondering why her son is taking so long to give her a grandchild? Is she remembering the Jaya Bhaduri of old? Is she thinking that she could have done better than Amitabh Bachchan?
No one really knows, but we do know that there won't be a lot of tamasha at her birthday. Maybe a cake. A source reports,
"Firstly, she wouldn't have celebrated even if things were normal. But this time with the family mourning her mother-in-law's death, there's no question of any celebration. When you tell her turning 60 is an event she shrugs and says it's just another day."
But the Bachchan's are flying to Miami to see Abhishek, so maybe a day a the beach will make up for the lack of balloons and streamers? Maybe someone should spike her drink...there's nothing like unconsciousness to forget a bad birthday.

The next Unforgettable tour will involve Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan and maybe Jaya Bachchan as well. Oh, and Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta and Ritesh Deshmukh, but they're not important. This is the latest in the publicity stunt that's the Bachchan family.
This tour has been postponed since 2007, as it initially involved Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar, but both pulled out due to other commitments.
The main question is, is this Ash's way of bowing out of Bollywood for a while, like her mother-in-law before her, to raise a family? Doesn't really make a lot of sense though, since Ash refuses to get fat, homely and knocked up.
Oh wait, maybe she can't get pregnant. Nice juicy piece of gossip that would be. Ok guys, spread the news. Aishwarya Rai is barren.

Yes, I feel like being confusing today…that’s my defence mechanism when I want people to think I actually know what I’m talking about when I have no clue. Maybe that will also work tomorrow when I tutor my first class…yes, that has nothing to do with Bollywood, but I’ll let you know in case I burst into a random rendition of “Mauja hi Mauja”.
After proclaiming her Valentine’s day plans to all and sundry, I guess it was a bit of a kick in the gut when Abhishek Bachchan couldn’t make it to the premiere of Aishwarya Rai’s latest movie Jodha Akbar. Not just a kick in the gut, it’s like dragging someone by the hair over burning coals and then dipping them in a vat of vinegar before throwing them in a cactus bush. Yeah, rejection hurts that much.
Aishwarya wasn’t alone at the premiere as parents-in-law Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan accompanied Ash over the red carpet. Ash just waves any rumours of a tense marriage away.
"What a wonderful Valentine's gift. Everyone who has seen Jodhaa-Akbar so far feels it's the perfect love story. And it doesn't really matter if Abhishek couldn't make it. For us every day is Valentine's Day. Every time we're together it's Valentine's Day."
No Ash, no one thinks you have problems in your marriage but since you seem to think you have problems in your marriage, than so do we. It’s not like we have lives, our purpose of living is to see that your marriage continues happily. We spend hours poring over videos of your premieres, wondering if your husband will pitch up, lip-reading and analyzing every glance. Frankly Ash, we don’t give a damn.

If you read the headline "Hema Malini pledges to donate her eyes" what would you be thinking? Mini-auction selling her eyes for charity? Sounds more interesting than the actual stories.
She's the new brand ambassador of Vision 2020 - The right to Sight India. The whole point of it is fund raising for the blind and just raising awareness about blindness. While that's very noble, I still think it would have been cooler if she had donated her eyeballs. Yes, I'm gross, I know.
Hema joins the ranks of famous celebrity Vision 2020 ambassadors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Juhi Chawla and Suniel Shetty. She'll be doing lots of celebrity fund raising thingies. Very noble, self-sacrificing and sweet. Why does this news make me want to sleep on my keyboard though?
Sorry for the late updates, the cricket is keeping me away. I seriously have to start updating earlier in the day! Congrats to Pakistan and their fans for a haphazard, if effective performance. Seriously well done to Zimbabwe for scraping past Australia, it was so much fun to watch.
Now, enough about the cricket. Rani Mukherji is acting with Jaya Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan in
Laga Chunri Mein Daag but all is not well on the set, because the Bachchan's, besides Abhishek are giving Rani a hard time. The actress has a good chemistry with Abhishek, but his wife Ash and mom are not amused. Ash is often on the set and usually ends up snubbing Rani.
Awww children, why can't you all play nice?
I thought Koffee with Karan was finished, but apparently it isn't and the final episode will feature the golden and annoying couple: AbhiAsh. I'm sure everyone in India and with access to the show will be tuning in, because who doesn't love Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. No, I'm not going to answer that, I'm supposed to be objective.
So Karan Johar will be ending off his hit talk show with a special episode that features AbhiAsh and possibly Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. Aw man, I could see the possibilities in this episode.
Karan: Welcome to the last episode of my great show. With me I have Aishwarya Rai and her beautiful husband Abhishek Bachchan.
Abhishek: -laughs-
Aishwarya: I think you mean it the other way around Karan.
Karan: No, I don't.
Aishwarya: Oh...
Abhishek: -laughs-
Karan: So tell me how you're finding married life.
Abhishek: -laughs-
Aishwarya: No, it's really great. Just having that one person you know will be around for the rest of your life. Just knowing that you'll be together forever...forever...it's so great.
Abhishek: -whimper-
Karan: No darling, I'm sure it is brilliant. So tell me what's the plans, any gorgeous Abhishek Juniors in the making?
Abhishek: -high-pitched giggle-
Aishwarya: No Karan, not just yet. I'm concentrating on my career right now and unless Aunty Jaya wants to quit Bollywood, I don't know who would look after the babies.
Karan: Well, we're looking forward to them when they do come. So Abhishek, you've been quiet...how is it like waking up next to the most beautiful woman in the world?
Abhishek: -bursts into tears-
I could carry on like that for a while, but better things call. Well, not really, but let's just pretend I have a life and I'm not spending the next hour in the library.
