I've already written a bit about this, but there is a lot of hype surrounding Imran Khan and Sanjay Dutt in their next movie Kidnap. The critics are already raving about the newly released promo.
I've been reading rave reviews about the newly released promo of Sanjay Dutt's and Imran Khan's new movie Kidnap, where Imran is already branching out from his boy-next-door avatar. Some viewers seem to think it's a battle between young and old. Some say that the lines spoken in the dialogue are so convincing and menacing that they just want to watch the trailer again and again.
Guess what? They're talking crap.
Yeah...Hell definitely is here in the form of this movie. Ok, maybe it won't be that bad but people need to stop hyping it up. Sanjay's "Go to hell" sounds so stupid.
Firstly, where are all these stories when I'm looking for Shahid Kapoor stories on a Friday? Damn news agencies, they only release the good stories on a Monday.
Secondly, why are all the 'boddaas' (old guys) in Bollwyood going after Shahid? First it was Salman Khan that had a problem with Shahid and now Sanjay Dutt has also jumped on the bandwagon.
This story started several years ago (ok, like 2 years ago) when Shahid and Sanjay were working together on Vaah, Life ho Toh Aisi! and even though Sanjay was acting with Shahid in almost every scene, he didn't appreciate the fact that Shahid mostly kept to himself between scenes and wasn't particularly friendly towards him. SO that's why Sanjay refused to work with Shahid in his next movie, insisting that the director could cast anyone besides Shahid.
So the role in Sanjay's movie Kidnap eventually went to Imran Khan...which is obviously Sanjay's loss. Sanjay is also close friends with Salman, so I guess they could bounce their I-hate-Shahid rants off each other.
A friend of Shahid's explains the incident with Sanjay,
"Shahid is a reserved person who doesn't take liberties with any of the senior co-stars. He has always been in awe of Sanjay Dutt and he maintained his distance out of deep respect. His deference was probably miscued by Dutt."
I swear, these old guys in Bollywood are far too up their own butts to see anything.
Even if you are a superstar in Bollywood, I guess there's no harm in showing appreciation to the guys that are increasing your status in the industry.
That's what Aamir Khan is doing. Even though Aamir hasn't done a movie since Taare Zameen Par, his name is still on people's lips when they discuss Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, second only to his nephew Imran Khan. Aamir decided to show his appreciation to his nephew by buying him a new BMW that cost a tidy 50 lakh rupees (5 000 000 rupees) and is supposedly white in colour.
White? Seriously, if you're ever going to buy a brilliant car, it should always be black! If it's not black, then don't bother. White is the most common coloured car on the road (at least, it is here).
A nice way to treat your uncle who's trying to launch you in Bollywood. Imran Khan, nephew of Aamir Khan and lead of almost-released Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, recently spoke about his uncle's apparent perfectionism (that probably got him to the top of Bollywood) and his increasing age and receding hairline.
“Perfectionists are boring. Aamir is so irritating. He is perfect. Sometimes that is a bore. I can’t be that good really,”
“I call him old man sometimes. And he gets angry at that. Recently he pulled a hamstring, I SMSed him ‘serves u right ol’ man. You should play your age now - a father,”
Ah real family love and affection right there, Vaah!
Imran recently appeared with Aamir on Salman Khan's 10 Ka Dum and Aamir specially asked Sallu to let them have a rehearsal before shooting the real show. Salman agreed and apparently the three Khan's had a nice bonding session. Salman asked Imran what he called Aamir and he said "Aamir Mamu" and when asked what he calls Salman, he replied "Chachu".
Since Imran beat Aamir on the show, Salman asked (in Hindi) "So if you needed advice about marriage, would you go to your Mamu or Chachu?".
I don't know what he replied but I would have said 'neither'. I mean, Mamu already has one failed marriage and Chachu has been avoiding the big commitment for years. Not exactly the best people to go to.
Imran Khan is still waiting for the release of his movie and until it does, he can never truly enter into Bollywood. Even so, people are starting to recognize him.
In a recent interview, he said,
"Life around me is the same and has not changed me. People still don't know much about me. They don't recognize me either"
"When I was in Delhi recently only one girl came up to me for autograph.
"I am waiting to see their reactions after the film releases. I have seen this only in films so far,"
Hmmm, though Imran has very "normal" looks. I mean, he isn't drop dead gorgeous or anything. He isn't buff either. If he's a nephew of a famous actor, does that make him a filmi kid? Although he doesn't expect any famous treatment or rave reviews,
"I am not vying for compliments. In fact criticisms will help me become a better actor. I am critical about my wok. I know that the audience decides the fate of the film so like every other new comer it will be just wait and watch situation for me. I have two more films on hand now. There's Sanjay Gadhvi's Kidnap and Soham's Luck with Shruti Haasan,
Hmm, is this a new generation of Bollywood? A humble generation, willing to learn, or just waiting to make the money?
Aamir Khan has supposedly offered an olive branch to Amitabh Bachchan by inviting him to the private screening of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, the debut film of his nephew Imran Khan.
Does this thing scream of publicity stunt? Of course it does. Aamir critisized Black on it's insensitive portrayal of children with disabilities when not so co-incidently, Taare Zameen Par was being released.
Even if Aamir commended Amitabh on Sarkar Raj, I doubt he doesn't have an ulterior motive for this new-found love.
Although this story is funny.
Good morning all and it's still very cold here, just not as wet. Harry Baweja is not having a good day either, because Aamir Khan is creating problems for his movie.
Love Story 2050 is supposed to come out on 4th July, and Harry had consulted with a lot of rival producers before setting this date. He had received the reassurance that his movie with debutante son Harman Baweja would open without any competition. Not anymore, because Aamir is thinking about releasing his nephew's movie on the exact same day.
The source says,
"The Bawejas were shocked,"
"They had planned and strategised their film's release almost six months in advance. They had spoken to all their potential competitors from Salman Khan to Ram Gopal Varma to Apoorva Lakhia and Aziz Mirza to Yash Raj and Tips."
"Harman called them up personally to make sure his film comes on a free Friday. Then suddenly Aamir showed up to create an almost 'Saawariya' - 'Om Shanti Om' crisis. The 'Jaane Tu' release was nowhere in sight when 'Love Story 2050' was announced. Suddenly, they came out of the blue,"
"Harry knows Aamir from the time he did B. Subhash's 'Love Love Love' where Harry was an assistant director. Ever since they've been in touch. Aamir told him he was indeed thinking of coming on July 4."
Though according to Harman, he isn't bothered and thinks it's healthy competition. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is the debut movie of Aamir Khan's nephew, Imran Khan (who just makes me think of the cricketer) and even though not much is known about the storyline, Aamir is doing the promotions and posters do show the release date as July 4. So I guess it will be war of the debutantes. There's a better way to settle this I think, they should make both guys fight each other in a tub of cornflakes...winner releases on the 4th.
