Ranbir and his daddy, singing the same song

Author: tigger  //  Category: Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone, Manissha Lamba, Ranbir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Siddharth Anand

For all those who liked seeing Rishi Kapoor in those tight, sparkly white clothes, you might get a whiff of the past as Rishi joins son Ranbir Kapoor in his second movie Bachna Ae Haseeno in a updated version of the song of the same name.

There's a lot of maybes in this report however since director Siddharth Anand still hasn't asked Rishi to take part in the song. There was no guarantee that we'd even see that song unless it lived up to Siddharth's expectations...it did, now he just has to shoot the video, which obviously includes Ranbir, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu and Manissha Lamba.

Sid says,
"Though I'm too scared to ask him as yet,"

"The only time Yashraj have done separate music videos for their films is for Dhoom. It's the project that determines the promotion. I think we had a great title song and it was waiting to be used as a music video."
While Siddharth is looking forward to the release of the movie, he doesn't want to give anyone any expectations, except that Ranbir that is a very good actor. He's just going to keep it a light romcom film...well, you can never really go wrong with those...

Koena messed up

Author: tigger  //  Category: Deepika Padukone, Koena Mitra

I never knew that Koena Mitra had work done but after looking at before and after pictures of her, it's kinda obvious. It's also obvious that her plastic surgeon mistook her words "make me beautiful" to mean "make me look like an Indian Barbie".

Is it just me or did Koena look a bit like Deepika Padukone before the facelift? And believe this, the 'after' picture is one of the better ones. Others look like Michael Jackson/alien.

Maybe this is the reason she hasn't been seen in many roles besides the odd special appearance in a song. Some reports say that Koena is running out of money...how is she going to afford corrective surgery?

Kareena has it all planned out

Author: tigger  //  Category: Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan
Kareena Kapoor is really organised. She's already thinking wayyy ahead in time, regarding her relationship with Saif Ali Khan.

Recently, she responded to the allegations that Saif was stifling her and laughs them off, saying,
"That's so unfair, really. I'm doing five films.. he believes in doing one at a time. So, we try to grab as much time as we can get together."

"He keeps showering me with presents.. the best was a holiday in Maldives,"
And what other presents has he given her? Diamonds?
"Woh bhi diya hai.. clothes.. small trips.. but the most expensive thing that he has given me.. is his time."
This made me laugh though. When she was asked what presents she had given to Saif, she said, with a completely straight face, "Myself". Well, isn't she just delightfully confident?

When asked about their relationship and where it's going, Kareena replied that they would definitely be getting married, but in 3 years. How does she know what will have happened in 3 years? Saif could have found someone younger than her...she could have become fat...she could have found someone younger than Saif...the possibilities are endless.

Kareena isn't content talking about her own lovelife and has commented on her cousin Ranbir Kapoor's with Deepika Padukone,
"I'm so happy for them. I hope they'll be happy together. It feels so nice to have another Kapoor from my generation doing so well.

He was fantastic in Saawariya. He's here's to stay. I feel a sense of pride and belonging for him.The Kapoors and Khans are rocking the industry."
And even when talking about other people, Kareena still manages to bring herself into the conversation. You know, that's kind of a gift she has right there, the gift of humble arrogance...

Ranbika are engaged…officially!

Author: tigger  //  Category: Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor
Wow, even I'm surprised that this story is for real but it's coming from the horses mouth. Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor are engaged! After dating for like 3 months, they've already committed themselves but 'shaadi itni jaldi nahee ho gee' (the wedding isn't going to happen that quickly). Let's do this in some chronological order, Ranbir and Deepika meet, Deepika reports,
"It was love at first sight. We were introduced by a mutual friend and we liked each other but we needed time for our love to grow before we could make a commitment."
Ranbika evolves and media report that they are on the verge of break-up, Deepika says,
"At times it can be really upsetting. As we are open about our relationship, people should give some amount of respect to our relationship by not cooking up rumors," "Ranbir understands as he is a part of the fraternity. The gelling force of our relationship is that we understand each other."
And finally, the big announcement that Ranbika will be as one, as Ranbir supposedly proposed soon after the release of Saawariya and Om Shanti Om, Deepika says,
"And I happily said yes,"
So, what are they waiting for? Well, apparently their careers have to stabilize first and with Ranbir's next movie coming out soon, let's see if he's anything besides the Indian dude with the long hair from the filmi family. Where does Deepika see herself in 5 years?
"Mrs Kapoor and the leading lady of Bollywood."

Ranbika returns!

Author: tigger  //  Category: Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor
I haven't had a chance to make fun of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone for a while but they're back on the back page with the stories of their maybe break up...obviously they deny it. After lots of media speculation that they had broken up, Deepika speaks out and reminds us all that they are definitely still together.
"Yes I have a boyfriend and we are happy." "There is always a lot of speculation but that is something you have to deal with. We are together and I refer to him as my boyfriend."
And he refers to her as "time-pass". Just kidding, that is quite cruel. Possibly not as cruel as their Pepsi commercials however, since they keep trying to stuff that "Youngistan" crap down people's throats and if that isn't enough to piss you off, you'll get to see them in Bachna Ae Haseeno soon...still think I'm cruel?

Everyone hates Kareena

Author: tigger  //  Category: Aishwarya Rai, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif
How incredibly shocking. Hi all and welcome to the new-look SoggyCornflakes. I hope you hate it because I'm changing it soon even though the pink colour is so pretty. At the moment, I'm having a very bad Monday so you'll have to excuse the lack of humour or niceness in my posts today. This stupid new wordpress won't even let me put pictures up...damn thing. It's like my computer is trying to blow itself up. Seriously not amused. Don't know how long it's going to take to fix it... So, Sawf News had a little poll about the popularity ratings of Bollywood actresses, that included Aishwarya Rai, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor. The results were something like this, Ash: 32% Kat: 29% Deeps: 23% Bebo: 15% Honestly, I can't say I'm surprised. Kareena is one of the most over-rated actresses in Bollywood (not that the others are much better) but the others haven't dumped the cutest guy on the planet and they don't go on about how sexy they are. I should do a poll too but SoggyCornflakes readers seem t be the quiet type...

Winners of the Zee Cine Awards 2008

Author: tigger  //  Category: Aamir Khan, Arjun Rampal, Darsheel Safary, Deepika Padukone, Govinda, Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Shaan, Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty
The Zee Cine Awards took place this Saturday in London. Let's look at the winners while I rant about Shahid Kapoor not winning best actor. To make myself feel better, I put the video of "Mauja hi Mauja" up.
Best Film Chak De! India - Aditya Chopra, Yash Raj Films
Yeah, Ok, this deserved the award. Was a whole new genre for Indian cinema, and for once, they actually pulled it off.
Best Director Aamir Khan - Taare Zameen Par
Same idea as above. A new genre done well.
Best Actor (Male) Shah Rukh Khan - Chak De! India
Not fair, not fair, not fair! For the first time Shahid Kapoor was nominated for best actor (I think), Shah Rukh had to play a role that wasn't his usual masala hero. Only consolation is that he got just as big a cheer as SRK at the awards.
Best Actor (Female) Kareena Kapoor - Jab We Met
During her acceptance speech, girls were chanting Shahid's name. Not hard to tell who the real star is.
Most Popular Track Of The Year Mauja Hi Mauja - Jab We Met
Obviously, good choice.
Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Male) Govinda - Partner
What a crap decision! Govinda was the most annoying actor ever in that movie.
Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Female) Shilpa Shetty - Life In A.. Metro
No comment
Best Actor In A Comic Role (Male/Female) Vinay Pathak - Bheja Fry Best Actor In A Negative Role (Male/Female) Arjun Rampal - Om Shanti Om
Okie, Arjun was pretty evil.
Best Playback Singer (Male) Shaan - Jab Se Tere Naina (Saawariya) Best Playback Singer (Female) Shreya Ghosal - Barso Re Megha (Guru) Best Lyrics Prasoon Joshi - Maa (Taare Zameen Par) Best Music A R Rahman - Guru Most Promising Debut Director Aamir Khan - Taare Zameen Par Most Promising Debut (Male) Ranbir Kapoor - Saawariya Most Promising Debut (Female) Deepika Padukone - Om Shanti Om Most Promising Debut (Child Artiste) Darsheel Safary - Taare Zameen Par
The rest are really obvious awards. Have a good evening all.

Shah Rukh and Kareena want Deepika

Author: tigger  //  Category: Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan
Shah Rukh and Kareena want Deepika Not like that you pervs, even though the word threesome does come to mind. Item songs seem to be the way to go in movies, bringing in audiences, just to see the stars that are reeled into the song. I still think Yash Raj got the idea wrong, good item songs involve stars, not D-grade bimbos. Shah Rukh Khan has the right idea though and for his next movie, Billoo Barber, has pulled in Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor for an item song. That sneaky source reports,
“Though Kareena and Shah Rukh haven’t done any films together; after Asoka and Don, their chemistry has been sizzling. So when Shah Rukh, who plays a superstar in Billoo Barber, asked her to perform to a song with him, she agreed. Kareena is keeping dates aside and will soon be shooting for the song by next week."
And since Deepika is hot stuff in Bollywood now, it's only obvious that she would be in the song as well. Did you hear that Yash Chopra? Hot stuff, not botched bum-job! And a MovieZen article about Deepika and others who want to take advantage of her new-found fame.

Commercialised Cricket…Hrithik jumps on the bandwagon

Author: tigger  //  Category: Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Shah Rukh Khan
Another morning whare I don't want to do anything. But being on campus, seeing everyone doing their assignments, inspires me. Inspires me to do as little as possible, heehee. Ok, enough with the narcissistic reflections. Let's talk Bollywood. This is the part where you jump in happiness and yell "yay!". And then I laugh at you for doing that, because frankly, you look silly. Anyways, the story today is that IPL cricket is totally being commercialised and I totally blame Shah Rukh Khan. He started it and now everyone else wants a celebrity to promote their team. The people of Mumbai, your team ambassador is Hrithik Roshan. Well, it could be worse, I guess. A source from the team says,
"We have chosen Hrithik to be the face of our team and shoot for the IPL anthem because he has the right persona and attitude,"
And that attitude is the love of money? If it was that, then even I would be team ambassador. And I'd charge less than Hrithik...but on the other hand, no one will know who I am. They'll just ask "Who's that gorgeous girl in the video?" and I'll be famous and marry Shahid Kapoor and then...wake up. Day-dreaming is fun. And for the people in Bangalore, you get Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone as team ambassadors. What do they have to do with cricket? Does anyone honestly care? And that's post 1 for the day, be back later with more insanity. Oh, and MovieZen post for today: Rakhi is delusional.

Ranbir walks, blowing kisses

Author: tigger  //  Category: Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Good morning all! Hope you had a great, relaxing weekend, because I didn't! Why do I only get a weeks worth of holidays? No fair! Anyways, enough with the complaining, on with the Bollywood. A few of the stories today revolve around the Lakme Fashion Week, where Ranbir Kapoor walked the ramp for the first time. Far from being nervous, he was confident enough to blow a kiss to girlfriend Deepika Padukone, sitting with his mom Neetu Singh. Did he ask Deepika for any advice, since she was a model?
"No, I did not take any tips from Deepika before walking the ramp. I had never walked the ramp before. It was the first time for me but I was quite confident. It proved to be an excellent experience."
And what's with the funny golden face?
"Before I came here I didn't know that my face would be painted golden. Only when I reached the venue and sat on a chair (backstage) to get the make-up done, I got to know about it. But I enjoyed the whole experience."
Is it just me or is Ranbir very chirpy about the show? I hate chirpy people...especially on a Monday!
