We've all kinda gotten use to Bebo-Saif's fights but this is the first time that a marital dispute has been reported between Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. Strangely enough, this fight also took place during the IIFA weekend but it took them so long to report it.

The story is that Ash is kind-of a loudmouth and this got on Abhi's nerves while he was with her. Even though he told her to calm down and speak more lowly, she ignored him and continued to squawk and squeal.

When the left the festivities and returned to their hotel, it was there that Abhishek supposedly confronted her about her need to draw attention to herself (touchy) and they hashed it out in the middle of the foyer and eventually Abhi asked security guards to escort Ash out of the building back to her room. And no one says when he returned there himself.

Oh well, I lost my bet that they would break up within a year a while ago...maybe they're in it for the long term and we can tell our kids about them as my parents talk about Amitabh and Jaya.

Even though Aishwarya Rai and Vevek Oberoi are ancient history, some people just don't forget...or maybe that's what Vivek tells himself to justify his mediocre career.

When Vivek and Ash hooked up, ex-boyfriend Salman Khan tended to ignore the couple, except that Vivek, with all his newcomer naivety, tried to take on Prince Khan. He called a press conference where he insisted that Sallu was harassing and threatening him because of his relationship with Ash. While Salman never replied to these allegations, supposedly, all his friends in the industry started to keep their distance from Vivek, which culminated in his lacking career.

In his last two movies (Mission Istanbul and Shootout at Lokhandwala) Vivek never had a girl to dance with or feel up...the point being that Bollywood's actresses are a bit skittish to commit to play opposite Vivek.

Sources report things like,

"But the problems were far from over for the makers. When they set out to sing up an A-list actress opposite Vivek, they met with no success. Vidya Balan flatly refused to do the film, on hearing she would be paired opposite Vivek. She gave the age old excuse of dates being the problem. The hunt is still on!"

"When K.S. Adhiyaman decided to remake his Tamil super-hit Thoondil in Hindi, he finalized Vivek for the main lead. However, he too is facing difficulty in getting a top actress to play Vivek's love interest. Actresses like Priyanka and Bipasha have declined the film, despite the script having a powerful role for the female lead. Adhiyaman is still searching for a lead actress opposite Vivek for his romantic film."

So everyone is that loyal to Salman? I kinda doubt it, they just don't want to act with Vivek.

The cold war between the Bachchan and Kapoors has been ongoing ever since the engagement between Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor was called off. I still don't know why that happened but since the two have moved on to greener pastures, it seems like they're not gonna act like 5-year-olds anymore.

Since Sarkar Raj premiered at IIFA, no one expected the Kapoors to attend, but Jaya Bachchan played the gracious hostess when Randhir and Rajeev Kapoor walked the red carpet and welcomes them warmly, since SR was a Bachchan family affair, containing Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan.

So we can all come out now? No foodfight?

I never thought I would see the day but Amitabh Bachchan and son Abhishek are taking the family thing a bit too far!

The actors will be together in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Talisman and are hoping to make it a family affair. Will they put enough pressure on the director to get Ash in the movie?

Hi all, feeling a bit sick today, hence the late updates. Not a nice way to start the holiday when you feel like throwing up half the time but oh well, better to feel sick at home than be sick on campus.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie recently bought a house for a mere $75 million, so it makes sense that the Brangelina of Bollywood should also buy a house. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya RAi have recently invested in a villa in Dubai.

It's not to live in though and the smart couple have decided that this was a good time to invest in Dubai (you know, before the Americans invaded ;-)) and have bought the resort type villa for an undisclosed amount. All we know is that's it's somewhere in the range of AED 15 million to AED 35 million. Hmm, not too shabby and they'll have Shah Rukh Khan as a nieghbour...maybe.

Abhishek says,

"Dubai is special to us not just as a place where we enjoy great warmth and generosity in terms of love from the people, but it's become a remarkable place and one that is so close to home for us,"

Some people have suggested that the house was bought so Ash could hide away from the world while she's pregnant but she dismisses these rumours,

"I am sitting here in front of you. So, it is not true that we have got a bungalow in Dubai to hide (pregnancy) from the media,"

I don't know if Abhishek was in a bad mood that day or he was just being flip with the media and added to Ash's comments,

"We are not expecting a baby. In case we do, we will let you know. We will not rob you of that moment,"

Yeah, like journalists have nothing better to do than wait for them to announce a pregnancy. Puh-leez, I have a life, I have family and friends, I have things to do...I'm sure that's a baby-bump I see on Ash however.

Maybe I should start calling Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan the 3 A's or AAA. Ok, I'm calling them AAA from right now and I'm copyrighting the phrase. Yesterday morning, while most of us were still warm in bed, the AAA's took a walk...a long walk...a four hour walk...a bare-footed walk...across Mumbai to visit the Siddhivinayak temple. I'm not exactly sure what was the purpose of the walk, although it's not for the success of Sarkar Raj. Amitabh Bachchan writes on his blog,

The walk last night or rather early this morning to SiddhiVinayak was fulfilling. Walking bare foot has its own hazards but where there is faith and resolve, obstacles seem to dwindle away. The tar roads, still warm from the aggressive sun in the day are fairly comfortable but the cobbled portions due to its uneveness causes some discomfort. The people were lovely. They come around, hundreds of them all walking in the same direction towards a common goal. There is excitement among them and smiles and a certain decorum. Intermittently, shouts of ‘Ganpati Bappa’ break the general silence. And the entire mass of people join in in unison -’Morya !’

Even I have to say, his post conveys a whole range of spiritual feeling. Read it, it sounds good. And basically, he did that whole walk because he wanted to thank God... In other AAA news, the 'Unforgettable Tour' is kicking off on the 18th of July and no, there is no Shahid Kapoor involved, but Akshay Kumar, Preity Zinta and Madhuri Dixit will participate. Abhishek talks about the tour,

"Aishwarya will be performing on some of her most popular numbers, including on the 'Dola re..' number from 'Devdas' with Madhuri Dixit. I am particularly thrilled about performing on the item number 'Kajra re' from 'Bunty Aur Babli' with my dad and Aishwarya,"

And finally, the stories about the Bachchan and Khan rift continues, as Karan Johar celebrated his birthday a few days ago, inviting both the Bachchan's and the Khan's. Big A and Jaya didn't attend, but Abhi-Ash were around. But Ash refused to acknowledge Shah Rukh Khan and made her own little group in the corner, didn't circulate and Karan had to keep running from one place to another trying to be a good host... Poor guy, and it's pathetic how supposed "big stars" act like petulant kids.

I hate depressing stories like these about actors I can tolerate. Another source has come out with the story that Salman Khan slapped Katrina Kaif multiple times in her make-up van. And the source of contention was Akshay Kumar. The source reports,

"He was overheard telling her, 'How can you treat me like this, what the [bleep] do you think you were doing with Akshay in that match… now you're here like nothing has happened and trying to act all cool!'" "Katrina was quiet even as Sallu raved and ranted. Once or twice, she tried to reason with the actor but to no avail. Katrina was crying and what she was saying was inaudible. But she surely said something which pissed Salman off even more because we heard a loud slap! Which was followed by many more."

I despise/hate/loath/abhore/detest a guy that would lay a hand on a girl, so if this story is true, I think Kat needs some help, to put up with something like this. Unfortunately, there is a high likelihood that guys who seem wonderful and generous to the outside world, may actually abuse the people closest to them. I wish that I didn't believe this story, but Salman was reported to have slapped Kat previously and Aishwarya Rai frequently complained about Salman's behaviour after their break-up. Is there ever smoke without a fire? But Kat and Salman's representatives have spoken up, Katrina insists that he never touched her and his publicist insists that Salman is way too much of a gentleman to ever hit Katrina.

People hoping for a Kajol-Shah Rukh Khan comeback are going to be seriously disappointed, because it doesn't look like Kajol is coming on board for My name is Khan. Instead, that role may as well go to Kareena Kapoor. Shah Rukh apparently wants to act with Kareena for a while now and has lobbied for her to get the lead role in Robot, when it was being co-produced by his Red Chillies banner and while it starred him, of course. Since then, SRK has pulled out of the project and Ash took the lead female role and I guess Shah Rukh is hoping for another chance with Kareena on Khan. Since Kareena is going back to her flop ways (whoohoo!) Shah Rukh may wanna rethink that.

Welcome and it's Friday again...yay! This week, you got a very good idea of what happens when you don't get work done in time and spend 3 days trying to do the stuff that you had 2 weeks to do previously, but you decided to fritter those 2 weeks away in mindless pursuits, that frankly rocks but are not conducive of your academic career. What happens then is that you neglect your blog and you don't get to make fun of celebrities and the bitterness just eats you away inside. So my main point is, SoggyCornflakes is good for the health! In today's story, I'd like to debate affirmative action and the affect it has on the European Union. Oh wait, wrong blog. Just kidding, like I would ever have a blog on something as boring as that...even though I have to study that crap on campus...sob...anyways, back to the actual story. It looks like Aishwarya Rai has a new friend! That shocks me since I was under the impression that she spent her days calorie-counting for Abhishek, but apparently she doesn't and looked incredibly chummy with Eva Longoria of Desperate Housewives fame at the Cannes Film Festival. Eva and Ash are both brand ambassadors for L'Oreal Paris (who's sponsoring the event for the 11th year) and I guess that's why they were hanging out at the event. But they still looked pretty friendly, laughing and giggling away with no sign of Abhishek around (though he is supposed to be around somewhere in Paris with his mom). While she looked better on the second day, Ash looked slightly alien-y for the opening ceremony (pic above) though a male friend declared he would "still do her". Ah, aren't the Y-chromosome species just so sensitive?

Well, I guess it had to happen eventually. The blogging bug has bitten Amitabh Bachchan and he's trying to get the rest of the family involved as well. In an email interview with Times of India (very convenient, since he has time to think of the answers) Amitabh stated that his website would soon expand with the addition of 4 family members who will also use the website as a tool to converse with fans. When asked if he would soon lose interest in the site, he said,

"These are early days. I want to be able to have sufficient material everyday to remit. Shortly our website shall be operative and four other prominent members of the family will be a part of it. Naturally there will be the obvious dilution in interest. I shall wait and see."

So that's Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai...who's the fourth? Could it be daughter Shweta, who spends as much time out of the limelight as the rest of the Bachchan's spend in it? Oh well, I guess only time will tell...wow, could I have used a bigger cliche? Sorry about the delayed posting and whatnot...I finally worked out again how to put pics up here (yay) and SoggyCornflakes should be back to it's usual self soon...with a new theme as soon as I'm done with work this week.
