Well, the hype about Jodha-Akbar continues, the Rajput’s are still up in arms about the portrayal of Rajput’s in the movie.

I don’t like copying from other websites, I prefer to paraphrase then act like the works my own, but Mr Thakur on Sawf News delivers this news much better than I could.

If Ashutosh Gowarikar can be faulted for his interpretation of history in the film Jodhaa Akbar it can only be for showing both the Rajputs and the Mughal in better light than they merited.

Akbar was a lot more ruthless than he was shown. He had to be, in order to subdue all his enemies including the Afghan descendants of Sher Shah.

The Rajputs were a lot less honorable than they were shown to be. Their legendary pride was a double edged sword that made them fearsome and weak at the same time, the latter by thwarting their attempts to forge a united front.

Unfortunately for the Rajputs, and arguably for India too, the Mughals were the victors and the Rajputs the vanquished. So if the Rajputs come through as weak in the film it is only because that is their history.

Wait, maybe I can phrase it differently. Everyone sucked, they just sucked less in the movie. Talk about waxing eloquently.

Other Jodha-Akbar news…seems like Aishwarya Rai doesn’t have a movie in the works. In her state of unemployment, maybe she feels like it’s the time to pen her memoirs? Though wait, the idea isn’t that she’ll write her own biography…she’ll get her mother to do it. She’s 33 and has doesn’t jack with her time yet, so I’m assuming she’s going into the stationary business and will be selling blank books, maybe with “Ash’s book” printed on top.

It’s good Ash is branching out in her breaks between jobs.
