Shahid

Aw, there’s not a lot of Shahid Kapoor news this week, sadly enough, so you’ll just have to be happy with the stuff I can drudge up after extensive and exhaustive research.

Basically, every Shahid fan is looking forward to Paathshala at the moment, mainly because it’s his next movie and because that’s the one we know most about…I still don’t know what Kaminay or Yahoo are about. There’s been a lot of focus of Shahid’s friendship with director Ahmed Khan, who he last worked with in Fool n Final…I’m sure Ahmed is doing a better job this time around, especially since someone else is directing.

I’m going to cry, I wrote the entire Shahid post and then my browser did a stupid thing and I lost half the post…annoying :-(. Let’s see if I can remember whatever crap I wrote last time.

Anyways, Ahmed talks about Shahid and how he agreed to the role,

“Shahid and I are very good friends. We share a great rapport. When I told him about the film, he said he wanted to be a part of it even though the role wasn’t long enough. He treats my wife like his sister; so as a goodwill gesture he decided not to charge any money for the role.”

Aw sweet, isn’t it? And lucky for us fans that he accepted the role, at least we don’t have to wait the middle of next year to get another Shahid movie.

Shahid also talks about getting to know Ahmed when he first moved to Mumbai,

“The lifestyle, the way you talk etc is different in Delhi as compared to Mumbai. But then I made friends and one of them was choreographer Ahmed Khan. My mom knew his parents and I would often go to his house. Ahmed would always be locked up in his room. His bed, furniture would be pushed aside and he would do this weird acrobats or break dance in his room. I used to just stare at him and think that this boy is either crazy or he is extremely good.”

I’m going to go with crazy there but since Ahmed is a decent choreographer, I’m guessing the childhood weirdness worked for him. Man, I remember typing a whole bunch of stuff here but for the life of me, I really can’t remember what it was…oh well. Oh wait, it was something about Shahid’s role being very different from Aamir’s in TZP since he’s a teacher that deals with a bunch of kids, not a child with special needs, so don’t look for similarities.

Finally, Shahid is up for the Lux Sabse Favourite Kaun award, c’mon guys, let’s make Shahid win. You can vote here.

Ad that’s it for this week, I’m out.
