Vidya is an individual
Posted on July 9th, 2008 by tigger under Shahid Kapoor, Vidya BalanObviously with the upcoming release of Kismat Konnection (Just 9 days left!) and this being Shahid Kapoor’s next film after Jab We Met, there will be comparisons between the two films. I recently saw a video comparing ‘Soniye Ve’ and ‘Nagada Nagada’, since both are Punjabi pop numbers. Shahid has been asked in numerous interviews comparing his KK’s Raj to JWM’s Aditya and now it’s Vidya Balan who has to face the same questions.
In a recent interview, she was asked,
Q. What about your character in the film?
A. The name of my character in the film is Priya who is very positive in every aspect. The backdrop of the film is Toronto. Raj (Shahid Kapoor) loses interest on everything in his life but after meeting Priya he gains his positive approach towards life back. The best thing that my character has in this film is the love towards her life.Q. The film looks very young and fresh. If watched closely, we can find that the film has some resemblance with Jab We Met. What do you say about that?
A. I think we cannot compare between Jab We Met and Kismat Konnection, albeit those films were made at the same time. Kismat Konnection was at the post production stage while Jab We Met was released. Maybe you have enjoyed that film the same as you will do with Kismat Konnection.Q. Don’t you think that your character does match with that of Kareena in Jab We Met? They both inject Shahid with positive approach in life…
A. You may have found similarities in our characters but I have played it quite in a different way. Priya is much different from Geet and they cannot be compared.
But those comparisons will never stop…hey, maybe I’ll even do a post on that once I see KK.

Tigger, I just saw noticed picture of Vidya…I like the woman but boy, is she big! Look at those arms and waist and she is trying to compete with girlies like Sonam and Deepika or former models like Katrina. I wish she sticks to dignified roles and dons those beautiful sarees instead of skirts. She is so much more talented in the acting department compared to all the other so called actresses, so why is trying to compete with these girls I don’t understand that too in an area which is just out of her league?
She wore a short skirt recently for the KK premiere in Dubai, now that was totally uncalled for. Why Vidya why are you doing this to yourself?? She has the thunder thighs of Sridevi and this ain’t the 80’s. Why is she hell bent on destroying her dignity??
OK sorry for going on like this, I know she will never read this but its good place for me to air my frustrations

That’s a really good point Sarah. Vidya mustn’t try and be some idiot skin-show actress…not only because she can’t pull it off, but also because it doesn’t suit her at all.
Well, glad you got all that Vidya stuff out, lol.
