Tabu won’t act with Amitabh anymore
Author: tigger // Category: Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Tabu, Vidya Balan
Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration but after the chemistry between Tabu and Amitabh Bachchan was commended in Cheeni Kum (Less Sugar), Tabu will let Big B move on to younger co-stars.
Cheeni Kum director R Balki has started a new project entitled Paa (Dad) and has pulled in Amitabh for the lead role along with Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan. Vidya has the bad habit of being linked with all her co-stars but it's unlikely that it'll happen this time.
Sort story, I know, but don't feel like making fun of celebs tonight. More tomorrow!

Did you see Vidya Balan at the Filmfare Awards in February. She grossed me out bigtime. She plastered on make up with garish eye-shadow and started chewing gum!!! She is a piece of ….should be sent back to making billboard posters, which is where she came from. Disgusting and awful.

Lol, the worst place to chew gum…when people are there to take pictures of you.
I’m not gonna write off Vidya just yet. Despite her need for a new stylist, I think she’s a pretty good actress. Have you seen Bhool Bhulaiya?

Tabu is such a good actress, not from mainstream cinema, much better than her sister Farah, who was a flop. As you know she is tall (5′8″) and big-made, though slim. Apparently she is very conscious of her height. Her clothes designer has said, “Poor Tabu, she is so conscious of her height, she crumples into herself and never poses standing erect”. She doesn’t have to worry about that with Amitabh (6′2″). What surprised me was her behavior at the Filmfare Awards in February. She weirded out. Upon going on stage and accepting the “black lady” (trophy), she immediately said, “I don’t want to thank anyone for this”. When both SRK and Saif Ali Khan said, oh you are being like us, rude, mean and nasty, she said no I am not being like you, but I don’t want to thank anyone for this, and left the stage. Really peculiar. You don’t have to thank anyone, it’s not mandatory, but the way she acted was weird (she was not trying to be funny either).

Yes, I saw Bhool Bhulaiya and she did prettty well. She is an above average actress, but still doesn’t cut it for me.

My point - Vidya vs. Tabu - no contest, Tabu hands down.

Oh Yeah, I did hear that SRK and SAK were disgustingly rude at the awards, teasing their seniors very disrespectfully.
That response by Tabu was rather unorthodox, but like you said, it’s not compulsory. Maybe she felt that all her success came from herself and she worked hard for the role and what-not. Don’t need to thank anyone then, lol.
In that case, Tabu vs Vidya would obviously be Tabu. Vidya still has a few years to go and a few good hits to deliver (not crap like Heyy Babyy) before she can even think of competing.

Also, many people may have missed this but SRK was a real dumbass very early on at the awards. He was yapping along with SAK, and acknowledging people in a silly way, like Preity Zinta. At one point Karan Johar said something from the front row and SRK said something like you are not that, you’re a liar, but… You should have seen Karan’s face and that of his companions. It wasn’t funny. SRK must have thought he was making a joke, but it was a disaster. He is very close to Karan just like Rani Mukherjee is, so Karan must have wondered what the hell got into him.

Did you see Tabu in The Namesake? As it happens she got the role after Rani Mukherjee turned it down, because she was shooting KANK at the same time and just couldn’t do it. Rani has expressed deep regret at not having been able to do The Namesake. But Tabu was great as usual.

Yeah, I heard that most people were just laughing away at his stupid jokes like anything but only a few showed actual disgust on their faces, like Tabu and Dimple Kapadia.
No, I didn’t see the namesake. Tabu is one of the few good actresses in Bollywood, who doesn’t have to do masala films or cheap indie films.

She was actually joking when she said I wish to thank noone for this award because in the press conference after, she thanked Big AB and said he was the best.
Tabu has a dry sense of humor. She’s also sarcastic. The director of Cheeni Kum described her as quiet, sarcastic and very honest,
I love Tabu. She’s an amazing actress and there’s always an air of mystery about her. I love that she doesn’t crave the attention. And I love that she doesn’t mind appearing in movies without make up on.

Ok, thanks for the clarification Marbs.

Tabu thanked Big B at Star screen awards and she said Big B made her feel special in the movie. Tabu is always away from contraversies. Infact after namesake she is doing regional film in south. She is such a down to earth person. She’s moved back to Hyderabad from Bombay, doing more regional films. Mira Nair clarified in an interview Rani was chosen for namesake just because she was looking for a Bengali.

Cool, it’s nice to hear about an actress who doesn’t have a big head.
