Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration but after the chemistry between Tabu and Amitabh Bachchan was commended in Cheeni Kum (Less Sugar), Tabu will let Big B move on to younger co-stars.
Cheeni Kum director R Balki has started a new project entitled Paa (Dad) and has pulled in Amitabh for the lead role along with Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan. Vidya has the bad habit of being linked with all her co-stars but it's unlikely that it'll happen this time.
Sort story, I know, but don't feel like making fun of celebs tonight. More tomorrow!
I will let this wonderful picture show you Salman Khan's new manly hairstyle. Nice colour and nice ponytail...though rat-tail might be more appropriate?
If you follow IPL cricket, you'll know that there was a little scandal going on involving Sreesanth and Harbhajan Singh. Apparently, Harbhajan went around talking and congratulating team-mates. When he reached Sreesanth, he just slapped him nonchalantly and then moved on to hug the next man.
I don't know if Sreesanth reacted there and then but at the end of the match, he went around sobbing like a girl. Wait, that would be an insult to girls...he just sobbed in a disgraceful manner that was actually quite entertaining to watch (yes, I don't have a heart).
Unfortunately there was only one video taken of the cool event and it didn't make it onto YouTube, since it's owned by Sony. And even though Sreesanth didn't press charges and Harbhajan apologised to him, the video was made available to Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia (owners of Kings XI Punjab) and Sreesanth. It is reported that they had some trouble controlling their laughter...hehehe, well, that's what I'd assume. A grown man getting slapped by another? That's classic comedy!
Have you noticed, Emraan Hashmi likes being the center of attention? Well, over the years, he's shown a choice of movies where he shares the screen with only one other male lead...and usually, Emraan manages to steal attention on screen.
Apparently, Emraan likes it this way and refuses to act in multi-starrer movies for the hell of it.
"I don't want to be a part of a multi starrer for the heck of it. I mean it shouldn't be the way that 'if Emraan Hashmi is in the film, it becomes bigger, so let's add him on.' There should be substance and a reason behind my inclusion",
"Also, the film should be able to sell on my name too. I don't want to be a part of the situation where a film has a big name as it's selling factor with Emraan Hashmi as an added attraction. Sorry, I may rather have my film as an Emraan Hashmi, even if that means going solo."
"There is no point in joining the fray just because so many other leads around me seem to be doing that. A package film is good as long as it has good share for everyone involved. The moment one has to struggle and fight for something like this, it ceases to be a worthwhile exercise."
So basically, the movie should be called "All About Emraan". Can't be a very interesting movie, since it'll show Emraan just kissing one chick after another, occasionally shooting any guy who appears on the screen, while screaming "It's my movie!!!"
That headline doesn't make much sense but for some weird reason, this wave of sleep just swept over me and all I want to do is put my head on my keyboard and start snoring. I'm off to find some instant cappuccino. I'm back, with the foamy goodness in my hand. Now, back to Bollywood.
If you saw Kareena Kapoor at the IPL match of the Mumbai Indians with boyfriend Saif, then you may have seen a little kid sitting in her lap. That little kid was Saif's son Ibrahim and apparently Kareena has formed a long-lasting bond with the little boy. How? By bribing him, obviously!. She apparently gave him his favourite video game for his birthday...cheapskate, she couldn't give him a PS3?
So while that part of the relationship is looking good, career-wise, Saif and Kareena are not having the best of luck. As mentioned before, Tashan is not doing well in the box-office and that has really hurt Kareena.
While she was all smiles at the Zee Cine Awards, Kareena supposedly sobbed and wept at the failure of the film during the event. I would feel sympathy for her...but why feel sympathy when you can delight in other's failures?
You know things are bad when you start having long conversations with complete strangers and expect them to hang on to your every word because you were somewhat famous at one stage.
That is the fate of poor Govinda, who's waiting for the release of his next movie, Money Hain to Honey Hain. When he isn't around his Partner co-star Salman Khan and making terrible movies, he seems to have too much free time on his hands. So much time that if you stopped him on the street for an autograph, he would give you enough info to write an autobiography.
Apparently Govinda is attacking unsuspecting housemaids and passer-bys, conversing with them for many a minute. While I commend him for not being class conscious, it really is too weird that he has 40 minute conversations with strangers.
He even has a time period set for it, from noon to 2pm every day. Is Govinda losing it?
Happy Tuesday all. I'm still on my kinda holiday, which puts me in a good mood...so today I'll be making fun of celebrities in a cheerful, upbeat manner.
The director of horrible movies such as Partner and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi is unleashing a new evil into this world. Not Partner 2...although he is making that (we have to do a petition about that!) but he's introducing his son Rohit Dhawan into the directing world.
"Next year I'm launching my elder son Rohit who's 23, as an independent director."
"The entire young look in Mujhse Shadi Karogi and Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya were decided by my son. And now in Partner he has worked shoulder-to-shoulder with me as an associate director. You can see the difference in the film. To have your son work with you is such a blessing. I feel a load off my back."
So like a good Indian boy, the kid went into the family business. I'm not sure which is worse. an offspring of an actor or of a director? Which one will annoy us more?
If David is making another film with Salman and Govinda, will Katrina be back in it? I just have a feeling that she's going to need a job after getting kicked out of her last one.
The Zee Cine Awards took place this Saturday in London. Let's look at the winners while I rant about Shahid Kapoor not winning best actor. To make myself feel better, I put the video of "Mauja hi Mauja" up.
Best Film
Chak De! India - Aditya Chopra, Yash Raj Films
Yeah, Ok, this deserved the award. Was a whole new genre for Indian cinema, and for once, they actually pulled it off.
Best Director
Aamir Khan - Taare Zameen Par
Same idea as above. A new genre done well.
Best Actor (Male)
Shah Rukh Khan - Chak De! India
Not fair, not fair, not fair! For the first time Shahid Kapoor was nominated for best actor (I think), Shah Rukh had to play a role that wasn't his usual masala hero. Only consolation is that he got just as big a cheer as SRK at the awards.
Best Actor (Female)
Kareena Kapoor - Jab We Met
During her acceptance speech, girls were chanting Shahid's name. Not hard to tell who the real star is.
Most Popular Track Of The Year
Mauja Hi Mauja - Jab We Met
Obviously, good choice.
Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Male)
Govinda - Partner
What a crap decision! Govinda was the most annoying actor ever in that movie.
Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Female)
Shilpa Shetty - Life In A.. Metro
No comment
Best Actor In A Comic Role (Male/Female)
Vinay Pathak - Bheja Fry
Best Actor In A Negative Role (Male/Female)
Arjun Rampal - Om Shanti Om
Okie, Arjun was pretty evil.
Best Playback Singer (Male)
Shaan - Jab Se Tere Naina (Saawariya)
Best Playback Singer (Female)
Shreya Ghosal - Barso Re Megha (Guru)
Best Lyrics
Prasoon Joshi - Maa (Taare Zameen Par)
Best Music
A R Rahman - Guru
Most Promising Debut Director
Aamir Khan - Taare Zameen Par
Most Promising Debut (Male)
Ranbir Kapoor - Saawariya
Most Promising Debut (Female)
Deepika Padukone - Om Shanti Om
Most Promising Debut (Child Artiste)
Darsheel Safary - Taare Zameen Par
The rest are really obvious awards. Have a good evening all.
Hey Guys!
The Bollywood blog that I write for has openings on its staff and it could be filled by you!
So here's the deal,
1) You have got to be a good writer and know the Bollywood industry, whether it's movies or actors.
2) You HAVE to have your own Bollywood blog (the higher the page rank, the better).
The job is pretty flexible, for bloggers interested in making some extra money. You'll make about $2-$5 a post. I don't want to go into too many details, but if you think you fulfill the requirements, then email Karen at bloggerswanted(at)gmail(dot)com. Quote SoggyCornflakes as your referral, you'll have a better chance ;-).
But if you threaten my job, I swear that I'll hunt you down and pull out your spinal cord through your mouth. You have been warned...now go apply!
No one make fun of my paint skills!
So it's official...I think. Tashan is a flop. Is it gloating if I say "I told you so"?
I've been surfing some sites and I've seen reviews such as
"Total bakwas movie,Save your time and Money. Donate some money a poor rather watching this Trashan"
and
"Totally crap movie, Yash Raj sucks big time"
Sounds like something I would write, and
"Worst movie of the year....nothing about this movie is worth talking about. I think its about time Yash Raj Films should start taking film making seriously."
