Sush Miss Universe

Meaning they don’t forget. Actress Sushmita Sen has not been to the West Indies in 13 years, ever since she was crowned Miss Universe and her watch got stolen. If you thought that she didn’t get over it, neither did the West Indians and they were basically there as soon as she stepped of the plane, they started begging for forgiveness, again.

“It felt uncanny to be back in Trinidad after thirteen years, this time to shoot a film. The last time it was in the capacity of Miss Universe. The greenery is gone! The entire tropical island has been turned unto a concrete jungle. But the warmth and hospitality of the people remains unchanged.”

Sushmita had a hugely exhilarating experience in Trinidad. “When I was in Trinidad thirteen years ago someone stole my Miss Universe watch from my hotel room. It was very very precious, and not because it was expensive.

I don’t show my emotions much in public. But that day I had cried. …Now cut to when I land in Trinidad last month. And guess what? The locals remembered that unpleasant incident!

They came up to me at various public places from the time I landed on the island to apologize for what happened so long ago. It was a truly heart-warming acceptance of the fact that wounds are meant to heal.”

So after 13 years, I hope you forgive them Sush, you hard-hearted woman!
