Poor Amitabh

Author: tigger  //  Category: Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan, Vivek Oberoi

It’s always tough to lose a parent or any other loved one, even if they had been sick for a while. Amitabh Bachchan lit the funeral pyre of his mother Teji Bachchan on Saturday. Mrs. Bachchan died on Friday after a long illness that had kept her in the hospital for the last year. She was cremated at the Juhu Cremation Ground, where the family was in attendance along with some other folks.

“Several dignitaries, including former Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, actor Vivek Oberoi, industrialist Anil Ambani, Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh and film director Pehlaj Nihlani were in attendance.”

Question…why is Vivek Oberoi classified as a dignitary? He’s a C-list actor. And while the gesture is nice of him, I wonder how Abhishek Bachchan feels that his wife’s ex-boyfriend came to his Dadi’s funeral.

May she rest in peace. The old bird lived to a nice ripe age of 90. Too bad Ash couldn’t give her a grandkid before she passed away. For shame Aishwarya, for shame!

Esha, you are entitled to your opinion. But let’s be fair. I know Tigger doesn’t think much of Abhishek either, but the fact is, he has improved tremendously since his early movies. His performance in KANK was very good and worthy of the Best Supporting Actor Award he got from Filmfare. We can’t say the same for Vivek Oberoi. He has simply gone downhill and really is a C-list actor. Who wants him? What roles has he been getting and what has he done with them? Has anyone even heard from him these days? Again, in fairness, if Abhishek wasn’t Amitabh’s son, I am certain he would never have gotten so many chances, he would have been dumped long ago. Vivek doesn’t have anything like those connections. He is a jaded pretty boy, and I have a sneaking suspicion that its his looks that have caught your fancy (which is OK). What is not OK is to claim that Vivek is a much better actor than Abhishek - not supported by facts. Tigger, for her part, I think, is not impressed with his looks or his acting ability and is going by the “facts”.

    Thanks Locust!

You basically said all I wanted to and much more eloquently, I mean, without the tongue-tied sputtering that I would have done.

You’re right Esha, much of Abhishek’s fame comes from his connections, whether it’s his parents or his wife but he actually has succeeded in making a name for himself…no one can call him a C-List actor because he really is one of the A-listers. Maybe you don’t like it but it’s a fact, as Locust said.

Vivek had potential once, but while Abhishek’s career just keeps getting better, Vivek is stuck in a major rut and looks like one of the actors that will never quite make it.

For a terrific writer with uncanny insight, who has the gift to start a debate, you are one of the most self-deprecating girls I have ever communicated with. And that puts you in the A+++ list. Keep trucking.

Lol, thanks. You see, when I put myself down, people say nice things about me…that’s my secret.

It’s just when they agree with me, that’s the problem, lol

Hei Evryone Above, Leave it evrything about Abhishek or Vivek. Let me tell you Something. Simple

If Abhishek is considered as actor everyone is an actor. It just because of his Father.

His looks are terrible. In my place when people sees his film they couldn’t sleep not because his look are good but because he looks like a horror films scenes people.
His lips are too big. his eyes are like an OWL
his faces are toooooooooooooo rough like a buffalo skin. Meet him and see how he really in life. In fact he is terrible, he puts lots of effets in film to look him goood in film.

How Aishwarya Miss World Sleeps with Him.
She became his wife as she has no other choice. May she is a finished grils. Simple.

  8. Kamini Says:

Actually i think it should be great-grand kid … which is an even bigger shame! =)

  9. tigger Says:

Oh thanks Kamini, you’re right, if Ash had had a kid it would have been a great grand child.

Neelam, I guess it’s frustrating for Abhishek to have so many claims to fame (famous father, famous wife) without being much himself. True, he got into the industry because of his father but so did many other actors who haven’t actually achieved as much as him. So let’s just be a bit fair…

Aah, screw that, you be as biased as you wanna be.

  10. jhonson Says:

No doubt Abhishek is a good actor. He has given stunning performance in many films like Guru,Dhoom2 and many more.In upcoming days he will be consider as a real superstar in bollywood world.

    Really? I’m hoping for a brilliant flop…

Why? I’m just mean like that.
