A few stories about Amitabh Bachchan doing the rounds and all of them have to do with the wedding of Abhi and Ash. Firstly, let me set the record straight on the behalf of Mr Bachchan, he did not sell the rights of the wedding to anyone because it was a private affair and selling the rights would have been wrong…because they weren’t giving him enough money…because Amitabh didn’t like the paparazzi…because it was a close family event.

“No such rights were given. And even if we were offered such a deal, we’d have rejected it outright. The wedding was a very private moment for our family and close friends.”

Then, this very private affair with close friends has pissed lots of people off, because they felt that they had been close enough to the Bachchan’s to garner an invite. Some people were even so annoyed that they refused to accept the “mithai” (sweetmeats) that Amitabh sent to everyone who wasn’t good enough to come to the wedding.

“Jab bulaaya nahin phir mithai kis baat ki? Amitabh had said those who had not been invited were not his friends in the first place. I won’t be put in second place and embarrass him by accepting the sweets,” Shatrughan Sinha told MiD DAY. Sinha refused the sweets three times…dude, I was in the mood for sweets, you could have sent them to me!

Looks like the Bachchan’s might be having a few new problems in Bollywood.
