Hey guys, I’m back…and hopefully updates will be regular again…well, more or less, but I’m going to try my best.
Now back to Bollywood gossip. Madhuri Dixit’s Aaja Nachle hasn’t had the greatest of starts at the box office, but there’s nothing like controversy to pick up some viewers. After opening disappointedly all over India, some people in Uttar Pradesh, Punkab and Haryana feel that the title song has lyrics that create negative impressions about the community and so Aaja Nachle was banned in those states…until Yash Chopra apologised and everyone forgave him.
The words were: “Bazar mein machi hai maramar; bole mochi bhi khud ko sunar” (There is so much chaos in the market that even a cobbler is calling himself a jeweler).
And these were removed, leaving everyone content. Though for someone who doesn’t live in India, won’t making a fuss reaffirm the stereotypes? Um, I’m not sure why that makes any sense…does it?
This is what happens when you update late at night!
