Ash was second choice!

Author: tigger  //  Category: Aishwarya Rai, Shilpa Shetty
Shilpa Well, it's not a big surprise but let's all act shocked. Oh my goodness, I can't believe they tried to get the more-famous Shilpa Shetty then not-that-famous-anymore Aishwarya Rai for a role in Pink Panther 2! That's like the biggest shock I've had, like when I found out they were stopping Gummi Bears...that's just rubbish man! I couldn't sleep for like 5 extra minutes when I heard! Ash's agent (the big liar) claimed that she was the only actress offered the role of Sophie in the Pink Panther...Shilpa's agent came back with saying that Shilps was offered the role 2 months before Ash but for some reason, she refused to do it. Though I think getting Ash for the role was a big mistake...you just know that she'll keep saying "like" in the middle of sentences, because that's the way cool people talk, right Ash?

No surprise here. In my opinion, Aishwarya Rai is an appalling actress, if one can grace her with that title. She really is nothing but a slightly buck-toothed model of simply better than average looks. There are many actresses in Bollywood, and many more ordinary girls in the streets, who are far better looking and attractive. All of the hype around her came about after American actress Julia whats-her-name said she was the most beautiful woman in the world. I notice that did not land any roles for her in Hollywood, only an interview on the David Letterman Show.

Her acting talents are almost non-existent. I can’t remember a single movie where it became commercially or otherwize successful because of her. Because of Hrithik Roshan, because of …. but never her. I saw Provoked recently, and at the beginning, I thought she had finally learned a little acting. But no, as the movie wore on, it was painfully obvious she hadn’t, she had learned just one trick. She wore the same someone-hit-me-over-the-head-with-a-wet-rag look thru the entire movie. A true moron.

Even people who are castigated for playing vamp roles, or, go for over-exposure like Mallika Sherawat are at least good at that, she sizzles, and in fact she has learned a little acting; she did pretty well in Pyar Ke Side Effects. But Aishwarya has nothing to offer except phoniness. In my opinion, she is one of the biggest frauds foisted on the film-going public.

I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to get that out of my system! Thanks! But seriously, what do you think, Tigger?

    Good Morning Locust!

Lol, you make alot of good points there. Ash is despicably overrated, and where anyone got that she’s the most beautiful woman in the world from I have no idea. Yes, she is pretty, but like you said, so many prettier gals out there.

I didn’t watched Provoked…after seeing Ash in Dhoom 2, I vowed never to watch one of her movies again unless it had someone worthwhile in it. Lol, so there’s two of your points proved. She’s never the reason a movie becomes a success…and even playing a vamp role, she sucks at it. If I had to hear her put ‘like’ in the middle of a hindi sentence again…or just say the word again…I think I would hurt myself. LOL.

But you’re very right. If you’re going to do something, no matter how controversial it is, then do it right! Otherwise you’re just the loser on the big screen with the short skirt and nothing really to show for it. At least we won’t have to put up with the wannabe-vamp side of Ash again anytime soon. Bachchan Bahu is going to behave…wish she’d behave by just leaving the big-screen. She can try a comeback in 5-6 years when everyone’s forgotten how much she sucked.

Lol, I think I have to watch Pyaar ke Side Effects, you talk about it alot and it sounds good. Any other movie gems that I missed? Lol. Oh, and thank you sooo much for commenting! Nice way to start the day :-).

Snap! My thought exactly! You crack me up, LOL. “wish she would behave by leaving the big-screen”. Tell me, is there any way, within reason, to persuade her to leave?

I don’t know your taste in movies, but Anwar, Life in a…Metro, Traffic Signal, Black Friday are classics. But in case you get the idea I only like serious movies, Khosla ka Ghosla is also very good. And you know I really like Pyaar Ke Side Effects. I am a patsy for a romantic comedy…I guess that’s why I liked Hum Tum, as well…good old battle of the sexes…arouses my latent infantilism….

Have you seen any of the above? And what

Sorry, what do you think of them?

LOL, wow Locust, you’ve given me alot to reply to. But it’s so much fun to chat with a reader rather than go on and hope someone is reading what I write.

A feasible way to make Ash leave? Lol, beyond pregnancy, not much else, and that’s Abhishek’s job and it took him so long to get married, dunno how long it’ll take to do anything else…

Ok, this is a terrible thing for a Bollywood blogger to admit, but from your list, I’ve only watched Hum Tum. I dunno…I tend to stay clear from the serious stuff and love the fluffy Yash Raj stuff, lol, though I will spread my horizons soon. As soon as my exams finish. Thanks for the list, I’ll know what to get.

I liked Hum Tum though. Lol, mainly because it had a happy ending, which is basically all I ask from a movie. Loved the battle of the sexes thing but I still think a guy and a girl can be friends. We aren’t all doomed to fall in love with our friends, lol.
