Shah Rukh Khan annoys everyone

Posted by tigger in David Dhawan, Farah Khan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen

Shah Rukh and Farah

With so much Shah Rukh Khan news around, I can’t be bothered to write separate posts, so you’ll get a super SRK post and don’t blame me if his arrogance knocks you over.

Firstly, Shah Rukh is acting in a new romantic movie with Sushmita Sen. Ok, not really, but since everyone liked his relationship with Sushmita in Main Hoon Na (um, wasn’t she taller than him?) that he makes a guest appearance in her new movie Dulha Mil Gaya (I found the Groom). Sush says:

“Shah Rukh and I are getting together again in ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’, though Shah Rukh only makes a guest appearance in the film,”

And she also talks about how Salman Khan isn’t conscious about his height, as she’ll be partnering up with him again in David Dhawan’s new comedy:

“I love working with him. We’ve such a beautiful equation. He’s one hero who doesn’t let me feel my height. On the contrary whenever I kick off my high heels he asks me to put them on. It’s not hard to see why he’s so loved.”

And Shah Rukh really does annoy people, whether it’s by having stupid scenes in Om Shanti Om or being disgustingly tactless. A scene in OSO showed a young Manoj Kumar being beaten up and the real Manoj is not impressed. Farah Khan and Shah Rukh say that they apologised to him and he accepted the apology:

Shah Rukh says:

“I and Farah have apologized to Manoj-ji over phone and we will go to meet him personally as well,”

Farah says:

“He (Manoj Kumar) was very sweet and said there was no need to apologize, ‘you are like my children’. We even offered to remove the scene from the film if it hurt him so much, but he said there was no need at all for that,”

But other sources say that Manoj hasn’t accepted the apology and Shah Rukh and Farah and going to have to do a lot more groveling before he’s happy with the apology.

And lastly, Shah Rukh shows how stupid he is by smoking around Farah Khan, even when he knows that she’s pregnant with triplets. Shah Rukh was told off by the National Organization for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE) to quit smoking in public and, instead of accepting that he made a mistake smoking just said that the places where he was smoking was private property and threatened to sue NOTE for sending him legal notices. Charming…moron. Even if you wanna kill yourself (believe me, no one cares) at least have some respect for your friend’s health. If Farah’s kids are born with flippers, we know who to blame.

Could anyone be more arrogant?

Aamir loves all children

Posted by tigger in Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan interview on childrens day

Even though Aamir Khan’s personal life isn’t looking that great, he’s looking forward to release of his new movie Taare Zameen Par (Stars are on the Ground) in which he plays a teacher to a dyslexic child. The movie is releasing on 21st December this year and Aamir recently gave an interview on Children’s Day on radio speaking about the movie, his role and how incredibly special children are. Aamir has not only produced this film, he’s directed and is obviously starring in it.

“Children’s minds are alive at a young age and they absorb anything that they find interesting,”

“Every child is special and there is something special about every child. It is our responsibility to identify and nurture the special trait in every child,”

Um, that’s really deep Aamir…and strangely enough, we all already know that. How come he didn’t speak about dyslexia…psychiatric disorders are always harder to deal with when you’re Indian, because we don’t like thinking that there could be anything wrong with our kids. And that’s it for the week. Have a good weekend everyone!

Hrithik is going to get a super-duper cool hairstyle!

Posted by tigger in Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan

Hrithik Roshan Inaugurating

Or something that just makes you laugh at him. Farhan Akhtar’s wife has opened a new hair salon (B’Blunt salon) which she got Hrithik Roshan to inaugurate. Hrithik’s acted in Farhan’s film Lakshya, though that was ages ago…I wonder how much he was paid to do to this.

Farhan’s wife Adhuna was the hairstylist in Farhan’s Dil Chahta Hai and if anyone wants to look like Saif, Aamir or Akshaye, then you know where to go.

Hrithik is quite enthusiastic about it all, and now that Jhodaa-Akbar’s finished…

“I don’t have a film that I am going to dive into next after Jodha Akbar. For my off period I am going to come back here and take a really wacko haircut,”

Are we supposed to be scared?

Could Ranbir and Sonam be a couple?

Posted by tigger in Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sonam Kapoor

Ranbir and Sonam

Or is it just a nice publicity stunt to boost falling theater sales? Well, you know I’m a cynic, so making your new co-stars claim that they’re dating is a good way to make people come see them in your crap movie. Well done Mr. Bhansali. Well played.

But let’s just assume that we believe them and Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor really are dating. Apparently their love blossomed on the sets of Black, where both were assistants to Sanjay Leela Bhansali. After a few dates they were smitten but were cruelly torn apart when Ranbir went to the US to attend film school (maybe he could suggest the same to Bhansali?) and they drifted apart. Ranbir then came back and had a fling with Deepika Padukone…but all thoughts of Deepika left his mind when he met Sonam again on the sets of Saawariya. Their eyes met across the room…she smiled shyly…he grinned…they hugged and love was reborn. Oh puhleez - roll eyes- So now they’re a couple again and are planning to live happily ever after. Though it’s claimed that Sanjay told the lovebirds not to talk about their romance…at least until the film flops, so he can use the extra publicity.

The sweet nothings that they whisper in each other’s ears?

Ranbir:

“I wish I could be like Sonam. She’s just such an honest and open person. It’s a beautiful quality to possess,”

Sonam:

“Ranbir is someone I can really rely on. I know that I can call him at four in the morning and he’ll be there for me,”

That’s very sweet. Their families have given their approval…oh well, at least they aren’t related. Small blessings.

Jodhaa-Akbar finally complete!

Posted by tigger in Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan, Suzanne Khan

Now we just wait, twiddle our thumbs and wait for it to come out in theaters. Stars Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan are already celebrating, attending a wrap party with their spouses and dancing the night away. Well, not really, Hrithik and Suzanne left early but Ash and Abhi had fun, Abhishek Bachchan even playing at being DJ.

A source says:

“Hrithik, Abhishek and Ash were seen making the best out of their dancing skills. Though Hrithik and Susanne left a bit early, Ash and Abhishek continued to have a great time. Abhishek took over as the DJ while Ash and the rest of the gang were seen dancing to the songs that he played.”

The movie is supposed to be released on 25th January 2008 but it may be a late with so many delays in production occurring. For the uninformed, the movie is about the alliance between the Mughal and Rajput empires, with the inter-religious arranged marriage of Emperor Akbar and princess Jodhabai. I love movies where arranged marriages work out…

Though Barbara Cartland may have stolen this plot for one of her books…huh? No, I don’t read crap like Barbara Cartland. Ah, just stop reading and watch the promo above.

Shah Rukh is nice…kinda

Posted by tigger in Arjun Rampal, Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh, Deepika and Arjun at kids free viewing

I’m still not sure if it’s admirable to fill little kids head with the garbage of Bollywood movies. Yeah, yeah, I know I watch them, but I’m old enough to know better to not burst into dance every time I hear ‘Deewangi Deewangi’. Anyways, whatever your views are (and you’re always welcome to tell me), Shah Rukh Khan is carrying on with the brainwashing by showing a free screening of Om Shanti Om to underprivileged children at Mumbai’s Gaity cinema.

The nice part was that Shah Rukh, Deepkika Padukone and Arjun Rampal were all there, which must have given the kids a kick. Picture above from the show.

SRK talks:

“I love children and wanted these children to see the film because it has humorous angles too. We keep on doing such events for children,”

Deepika chips in:

“It was amazing spending time with these children. As a child I was very good in sports,”

Um, and what does Deepika being talented at sports have to do with the kids? Nothing whatsoever…

But the real strength of Om Shanti Om will be tested next week, because most people went in because of the hype…now let’s see if people go in because it’s any good. Though the Pakistani cricket team gave it a big thumbs down, watching it on their day off…except now they’re losing…Tendulker is making them pay for saying Shah Rukh sucks.

No one’s making ‘Dil Aur Chahta Hai’!

Posted by tigger in Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Farhan Akhtar

DIl Chahta Hai

Not Farhan Akhtar and not Abhishek Bachchan. Though those two seemed to have switched roles…Farhan’s a pretty decent director, having Dil Chahta Hai and Don (the remake) to his credit and we all know who Abhishek Bachchan is…the son of Amitabh Bachchan and pati-ji of Aishwarya Rai. Must be sad, being famous because of the people you’re related to…ok, ok, don’t flame me. Abhishek is very talented in his own right and he made it into the industry through his own hard work and talent. There, you happy?

But he wants to do something that his dad never did and is trying his hand at directing. And his leading man is Farhan Akhtar…cute. Though some people are mistaking his boy-bonding movie as a sequel to Dil Chahta Hai, though Farhan says that it isn’t.

“It isn’t really a sequel. The genre of the two films is the same. So the two films resemble one another in some details like the bonding among friends. But the story of Abhishek’s film is not an extension of my ‘Dil Chahta Hai’,”

This isn’t the first time Farhan’s acting, but he claims this is just something that he likes doing, but being a director is what really makes him happy. Abhi’s movie will also have Arjun Rampal in it (that means I’ll be watching it) and some VJs. Might take a while for us to see anything though, so don’t hold your breath.

Kareena and Ranbir want to be cousins

Posted by tigger in Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor

Kareena looking so pretty

I know they are, but they’re tired of the bickering between their groups and take every public opportunity to tell the press how good and talented the other one is. Kareena Kapoor has recently had a hit with Jab we Met and even though Saawariya was panned by everyone, it’s unlikely that it’ll stop Ranbir Kapoor for getting more roles. I mean, that’s the point of the Kapoor clan, right, that they force one of their offspring down our throats every few years and we just have to deal with their immense “talent”.

Ranbir says, speaking about the separation between the family:

“Agreed, we stay in our own individual spaces and do our own thing. But there never was any open enmity among us. Why should there be? We’re family. We may not meet every day. But we’re all there for each other all the time. I think Lolo didi and Bebo didi have made us all proud. I hope I do the same,”

Kareena also raves about her cousin, though unable to praise anyone without complimenting herself while doing so. Kareena even showed her support for her cousin by sitting with the clan of Kapoors who had come to watch the premiere of Saawariya.

“I loved ‘Saawariya’. It’s awesome. And Ranbir is so good. We Kapoors are here to rock together,”

Kareena fans…doesn’t Bebo look so pretty in that picture?

Vidya likes you thinking that she’s good

Posted by tigger in Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Vidya Balan

Vidya

Even though Vidya Balan played a glamourous and modern girl in Heyy Babyy, she knows that people like her good wholesome Indian girl image and she wants to keep it like that.

“That’s my USP and why should I shy away from it? Even if I tried to be a floozy, I’d be a disaster. Even when I played a radio-jockey in Raj Kumar Hirani’s film, I wore kurtas, skirts and other desi accessories. I’m not like a hip radio-jockey from Australia,”

And though some people think she’s arrogant, she’s delighted by the attention that she gets, though it took a meeting with Amitabh Bachchan on the sets of Eklavya to make her blush.

“Amitji and I didn’t have too many scenes together in ‘Eklavya’. In fact, we had just three scenes. But we watched the edit together. When he came in, he said, ‘Namaste’. Then he held my hand and said I was exceptional. I started giggling. He said, ‘All of us are in love with you.’ I didn’t know what to say,”

“I feel extremely blessed. Amitji appreciating me is such a compliment. It makes my parents so proud. I’ve learnt how important it is to be generous to the people around you. I saw the same kind of humility and generosity in Sanjay Dutt during ‘Parineeta’, ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ and ‘Eklavya’.”

Nice to see that at least some stars are humble…I’m talking about you-know-who…if I write his name, I know he’ll burst in hear singing about his greatness…you know, that guy that kinda had a hit movie on Diwali…yeah, that guy.

Soha won’t let history be repeated

Posted by tigger in Sharmila Tagore, Soha Ali Khan

Soha ali

It’s not the first time that a Bollywood actress has spoken out about the constant skin-shows that happen on-screen but Soha Ali Khan has another reason not to expose. Why? Because her mum said she couldn’t. Or at least that she shouldn’t.

Soha’s mum, Sharmila Tagore has advised her daughter, through her own experience, that exposing on screen was a mistake that she made. Sharmila shocked everyone 30 years ago by wearing a bikini in An Evening in Paris and now feels that that’s not what she wants for her daughter, even if filmmakers expect it from Soha, just because she did it before.

“She told me that if producers want me to get into a bikini just because she did so once, I’m supposed to say, ‘My mom made some mistakes. I won’t repeat them.’ There are some things which I don’t need to be told not to do, just as I’ve my own list of dos,”

She also speaks about her role in the industry and confusion about what kinds of roles she likes best. So the answer? Simple, do both.

“I’m not too old in the industry, still finding my way around. I can’t say whether I’m cut out for ‘Shaadi No. 1′ or ‘Antarmahal’. Ideally I’d like to do both kinds of cinema, just like my mom did. There’re some things I won’t be comfortable doing.”

“Sometimes I feel I belong to another era. That’s when ‘Antarmahal’ seems like my cup of tea. Then again I want to do a young contemporary girl’s role because that’s what I’m in real life. In ‘Rang De Basanti’, I played a young college-going girl. I like that.”

Sorry for the rubbish posts today (besides Locustwillow’s of course) but I think I’m coming down with something. Toomuchexamsitis? I think so!
