At least it’s only on the big screen. For all Krrish fans, you’re in luck. It looks like a sequel for Krrish is being planned by papa Rakesh Roshan and son Hrithik Roshan. Even though it’s still in the pipeline, I suppose there must be a script around and Hrithik is so excited about it, he wishes he could leave his superhero role to play the villain.
“All I can say at this point is I wish I could play the villain in ‘Krrish 3′. I’m really excited about the villain’s role. So much so that I feel like giving up the superhero’s mantle to play villain. His role is too exciting,”
I don’t know how good of a villain he makes though, as his attempt in Dhoom 2 just gave us a very hot and very likable villain. Not you Ash, we all hated you in that movie. And speaking of Dhoom and whether Aryan will be back for that role, Hrithik says,
“Well, I think ‘Dhoom’ is a fabulous franchise. It has to move on. Whether my character Aryan will be back or not remains to be seen. Anything is possible in the movies.
“The challenge for every ‘Dhoom’ or ‘Krrish’ film is to be bigger and brighter than before. I think we’re climbing the ladder very fast. Soon we needn’t fear comparisons with our Hollywood counterparts.”
And looks-wise comparisons? What will it be girls? Hrithik Roshan or Brad Pitt? Antonio Banderas or John Abraham?

Shilpa Shetty

Yesterday Shilpa Shetty attended a photoshoot to promote her new musical Miss Bollywood and is it just me or has she had some work done on her eyes? They’re pulled up very unnaturally…ay, not another actress who ruins her looks with plastic surgery, other examples being Preity Zinta and Kim Sharma.
Anyways, Shilpa is still touring the UK with her show, and unfortunately, being the darling of England doesn’t mean that people will eat up everything you give them. The reviews of the show have been rather negative, even though Shilpa’s dancing has been praised, the plot, script and acting have been slammed by critics. Ticket sales have also been low.
But Shilpa will also be touring Belgium and the Netherlands during the next month, so maybe some Bollywood fans there can really enjoy her performance.

Along with the kid of the people who have failed as parents. If you’re that kid’s parents, I suggest you shoot yourself, or your kid. Even if you have failed as parents, you might still succeed in life.
And an ‘Igger’ is an Indian N-word…no racism intended. Just my usual inappropriate humour.

Bipasha Basu,
Ranbir Kapoor

I’m sure that’s not even a word, but that’s the cool thing about being a blogger. You can totally make up words. Bipasha Basu talks about her hair, her quest to look younger and how much she’s looking forward to acting with Ranbir Kapoor.
She has recently dyed her hair a darker shade and says:
“I got bored with the color of my hair. If I wasn’t an actor I would’ve taken my hair to the realm of the bizarre,”
Really? Bet you can’t beat that gal I saw on campus today with green hair and pink tips. Seriously.
Bips also thinks that her hair might make her look younger, since she has to act opposite Ranbir in their next movie, though she is only a few years older than him.
“I’m playing a much younger character. It would be very interesting to see him (Ranbir) paired with me. The character he’s playing is very different from ‘Saawariya’. I can’t speak about my role. But it’s a character no one will forget.”
I hope you mean that in a good way Bips!

Bipasha Basu,
John Abraham

Otherwise just known as John Abraham’s and Bipasha Basu’s movie Goal. It’s premiere is on the 21st of November in Dubai at the Grand Cineplex with STAR TV Middle East as the host. I’ll see if I can steal some pictures for you guys later, but that’s the news for today.
But UTV Motion Pictures, the producer of the film are really happy, because they’ve made back all the money that was invested in the movie, through selling the satellite and music rights, in-film advertising and territory pre-sales. Now all other cash made is just a big hunk of profit, so things are looking good for goal.
A guy from UTV says, speaking about the recouped costs:
“It surely lessens the burden, but at the same time box office success is important. Because a film is considered a hit only if it does good business at the ticket window,”
“Producers are using different medium to recover money, and it is heartening to know that we have recovered our cost of production,”
Um, yeah and that really is it for the day. Sorry for the crap posts, will do better tomorrow.

Sanjay Dutt

It doesn’t seem so likely, as his bail hearing has been postponed, yet again.
Sanjay Dutt’s been sentenced to 6 years for the illegal possession of weapons relating to the 1993 Mumbai Bomb Blasts. While it took ages for the case to finally make it to court, now they’re making sure that he stays in jail for a good few years.
Sanjay’s next chance to appeal his sentence is set for the 27th of November. Even though he had already spent 16 months in jail, I don’t know if that counts in the 6 years.
But I still think that Sanjay will eventually be let out of jail, just because he’s one of the biggest stars of Bollywood. They couldn’t keep Paris Hilton in jail for more than 23 days and look at what a mess she is. No comparison, Sanjay will be getting out soon, even if he has to spend the rest of his life out on bail. And then he can go back to making lots of money for lots of different film directors…charming.

Um, yeah, I don’t know where that last headline came from. Someone please stop me from reading cute, chick-lit books that leave you with a fuzzy feeling in your stomach but also kinda sad because that stuff doesn’t happen in real life. It’s almost as bad as Hindi movies. Anyways, enough raving. Today’s articles are mainly about John Abraham, Bipasha Basu and Goal, so stop reading if you’re tired reading about them.
John Abraham says that his movie career has been good for him, because he gets to add more strings to his fiddle (pun fully intended!). The actor learned to play the flute for his shooting of Water and for his next film, the not-so-originally named Rock Star, he’s learning how to play a guitar.
That’s really great, considering all the fake playing and lip-syncing that we see in movies. The one’s that make you sure you’ve done a better job in front of your bathroom mirror.
“Yes, I’m going to get those strings right. No point in strumming senselessly. Nowadays, the audience has got very wise. They can tell when an actor is faking it. In fact, I learnt to play the flute for my role in ‘Water’. At this rate I could become a one-man band,”
A very cute one man band…When asked if he’d have fun playing with Saif Ali Khan, who also plays the guitar, John laughed and asked “Why not?”. Don’t expect it any time soon, Saif’s new squeeze Kareena doesn’t like John much.

While playing a prostitute however, so I don’t know how much of a compliment that is.
Rani Mukherjee’s portrayal of the prostitute Gulab in Saawariya was commended, and people noticed that her body language and speech was similar to Rakhi Sawant’s. Rakhi wandered onto the sets one day (or was invited, whatever) and Snajy Leela Bhansali liked her way of speaking and decided to make Rani act like her.
A source says,
“That’s when Sanjay Leela Bhansali heard Rakhi speak and decided to incorporate her cute and wonky way of speaking the English language into Rani’s character,”
Rakhi was obviously delighted of course, as she is whenever she gets any attention and gushed:
“I wasn’t aware of the similarities. I’m a big Sanjay Leeela Bhansali fan and I adore Rani. Yes, he had invited me to the sets. He made me feel very special. When I watched him shoot with Rani, I became an even bigger fan of Sanjayji. Even a walk-on part in his film is invaluable,”
Cute…it could have been worse I guess, they could have made her dress like Rakhi.

Sunil Shetty

Once again, some Bollywood star does something nice to cancel out the arrogance of the others. Sunil Shetty was there at the Gateway of India in Mumbai, where the civic authorities were launching a drive to keep Mumbai clean, which involved having a “dirt police” that had the power to fine citizens for littering etc, with fines going as high as 20 000 rupees.
Well, on a personal note, that’s much better than our screwed-up police…now they’ll throw motorists in jail for not wearing a seatbelt. Well done to Mumbai for making a constructive effort in bringing about change.
Sunil says,
“Its high time that we get the sense of ownership…all of us are citizens of Mumbai and must be serious about the city’s upkeep”.
Well said dude.

Konkona Sen Sharma

Though she doesn’t really mind. Konkona Sen Sharma is presenting a new series “Indian Genius’s”, a show about…you guessed it, smart Indian kids. She’s the host of the show, and it appeals to her because it’s a different concept especially since she gets tired of the shows that involve Bollywood dance and gossip on TV all the time.
“Although I felt more stupid after meeting them, I realized I have done nothing in my life yet as some of the geniuses have achieved so much in their lives at a tender age,”
“Something unusual is what attracts me and this series is based on a unique concept, so I decided to host it. Moreover, I am an avid fan of this channel,”
“Whenever I watch the channel it gives me a refreshing change because despite being a part of the Hindi film industry I am tired of continually watching programs which feature Bollywood gossip or dance,”
Konkana takes a break from Bollywood by hosting the National Geographic show, but don’t stress, you see her in Laga Chunri Mein Daag and in the upcoming Aaja Nachle, so Konkona fans, don’t despair!
